Two musically ambitious songs from two of the leading rock acts in the 70's. Which do you prefer?

It's not a difficult choice for me. While I can appreciate the musical skill in creating "Bohemian Rhapsody", I've never much care for the song. "Station to Station" on the other hand is one of my favorite songs ever.

    Et tu?

STS hands down. Love Queen but I could go the rest of my life without hearing BR again.

Random choices. Station to Station by a landslide.

STS, no contest. I never need to hear BR ever again, thank you very much.

This a case where both songs are very very good.

Sadly, Bohemian Rhapsody has been been assimilated into popular culture and used and abused on many different ways, which in my mind has devalued it. When i say devalued, it's obviously the same song as its always been, but when it comes to which I'd rather play at home, it's not close - STS.

I really like "Rhapsody" - it's probably my favorite Queen song.

But "Station to Station" is my favorite song by my favorite artist, so it's an easy winner!

The overwhelming support for STS is QUITE a nice surprise. I like BR but more so as a recording and an arrangement than an actual song; I never found anything especially great about the individual sections, melodically. On the other hand, STS keeps me glued to this day..ominous intro into a great opening section followed by a repetitive coda, I never seem to tire of..and did I mention Bowie's outstanding vocal work? Not to dare knock Freddie Mercury but there's something about the tonalities of Bowie's many voices I always amazed me.

I never have thought of both songs in the same context, but STS all the way. Amazing that Bowie doesn't even remember recording the album, as it's a true tour-de-force.

"Station To Station" sounds like an outtake from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I used to love Bohemian Rhapspdy when all I did was listen to the radio. I probably haven't listened to it in a year or two, and I have no particular desire to. Statiom to Station, on the other hand, is great!

I used to like both, but Bohemian Rhapsody has been played to death so much that I can't really stomach to listen to it anymore. Station to Station it is...

BR has been played to death, but I never got into Bowie's STS. Don't see what the fuss is all about with that song. So an easy choice for me, Bohemian Rhapsody. I heard the song again yesterday and it is a masterpiece and great song to hear.

Polar opposites, Rhapsody is a dated novelty song, Station to Station still sounds fantastic. Anyway, as has been said here, VS threads are churlish and should be banned.
