Phono stage wanted for amplified music + kind to less than perfect mastering

    Any recommendations for a phono pre-amp (MM/MI cartridge, currently using a Grado Gold Prestige but will add a top of the line MM one as well) that deals very well with amplified instruments and less than perfect sounding recordings?

    Jolida JD9. with it you have the option of tube rolling to tailor the sound to your liking. You can also change the opamps. It also has a full compliment of gain and ohms settings. Love mine

    IMO the cartridge is much more important that the preamp for this. The preamp can only work with the signal it gets from the cart...if that's bad it really doesn't matter what the preamp does to it.
