The demo disc with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds DVD is better than the concert AND the original album put together.

The bonus disc of Elvis Costello's Goodbye Cruel World is superior to the album it originates from.

I also like the bonus disc of Robert Smith's The Glove project and listen to that as much as the primary album disc.

The bonus disc on the deluxe (What's the Story) Morning Glory makes a perfectly good album in itself.

The Deluxe version of Catch A Fire by The Wailers. I would go as far as saying I prefer the second disc, which features the original Jamaican mix.

Both of these are out-of-print, but they are the first that came to mind:

The Cure "Acoustic Hits" ("Greatest Hits" bonus disc)

They Might Be Giants "Cast Your Pod To The Wind" ("The Else" bonus disc)

Bad name for a band, or name for a bad band?

If they were bad, you could give them this name to punish them.

When commas are outlawed, only outlaws will use commas, my friend... think about it!

All of the Wildhearts' bonus disks on their latest reissues are just as good (if not better) than the albums.

The bonus disc on David Bowie's "The Next Day" deluxe edition is a terrific album that outshines the actual album itself, IMHO.

Disc 2 of "The Joshua Tree" (Deluxe Edition) by U2 works just fine as a standalone album, which I certainly prefer over "Rattle and Hum"; the bonus discs for "Boy", "October", and "The Unforgettable Fire" are also excellent.

One of the best-ever bonus discs is the Roger Glover remix disc that came with the 25th anniversary edition of Machine Head by Deep Purple. Some stunning, relevatory remixes and alternate Blackmore solos! The regular album isn't too shabby either :)

Some Girls was the first thing that came to mind.

Springsteen could have done a bunch of them, but he went with Tracks and The Promise instead as separate box sets (The Promise was stand-alone and part of the Darkness box). Same with the live '75 album with the Born to Run box, although that one was eventually spun off as a separate release, yes?
