It's not surprising to me that STS wins.
BR has been overplayed to death and is so much part of our musical DNA, that we are just taking it for granted.
There is no doubt that BR is a revolutionary recording and the song has been accepted in popular culture as one of the most fantastic pieces of music ever created. You don't even have to be a fan of music to acknowledge BR.
STS is not 'accepted' in popular culture. You have to be a fan of music to appeciate it even exist.
Therefore, on a forum like this, it's not surprising that STS wins...

It would be more fair to compare BR with Yesterday or Imagine... (Beatles fan-boys aside ;) )

  4. "Bohemian Rhapsody". "Station To Station" is unlistenable to me and I like David Bowie.
"Bohemian Rhapsody" is marvelous. It may have been overplayed, but I don't listen to any music except when I want to.

    STS by a country mile.

Can't stand BH and haven't been able to since about 1975. Overblown pile of nonsense.

Wow, only on the SH forums can you read that Bohemian Rhapsody is a "dated novelty song".

    Absolutely disagree.

Shocked that BR is trailing so much.

Yes, I know BR has been played to death, and I know what you mean if you never need to hear it again.

But then so has All Right Now, and I never tire of hearing that............

I'm a Bowie fan and I can see the irony in your last comment. Why can't you? Huh?:)

Yeah, this I don't get. My kids (4 of them) down loaded BR on their IPhones because they heard my playing vinyl one day. It became their "new" favorite song and they proceeded to overplay it. Maybe there's a reason some songs get overplayed to the point we hate them, they're called classics and anyone hearing them for the first time gets it...my vote BR all the way.

Station to Station was just a decent Kraftwerk rip off. Bohemian Rhapsody was pretty mind blowing when it was released.

The opening sound effects and beat are reminiscent of Autobahn; not many lyrics like Bowie's on Kraftwerk records, however.

Other than the fact both start with vehicle noises, I can't hear any similarities between "Autobahn" and "Station to Station".

Some of the "Low" songs sound very Kraftwerk, but "Station to Station"? :unhunh:

Autobahn isn't the only Kraftwerk song.
