Interesting. In X-Men: Days of Future Passed, they introduce a young Quicksilver (played by Evan Peters of American Horror Story) back in the 70s. At one point, when he meets Magneto, he even says something like "My mom knew a guy who could manipulate metal." But I don't get the feeling that the X-Men and the Avengers are quite in the same movie continuum at this point, so it will likely be a different take on the character. I'm glad to see that the Scarlet Witch and Vision will be entering the picture here.

The rights to Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch for some reason fall under both Marvel/Disney & 20th Century Fox. So, both studios are free to explore their own versions of those two characters. But of course they would exist in separate universes with no crossover potential.

The rights are split, because the characters were in both X-Men and later, The Avengers.

The Marvel Studios films (Avengers et al) are prohibited from using the word "mutant" however, so they can't refer to Quicksilver or Scarlet Witch as "mutants" in Age of Ultron.

The should call 'em "mootants" - kind of like they used to refer to robots as "robits." Maybe that would work...

    They are called "enhanced", IIRC.

I've only just now realized that the actors playing the twins Quicksilver/Scarlett Witch in "The Avengening" were husband and wife in "Godzilla".

Interesting that SJ did this movie somewhat far along pregnant.

Robert Downey Jr. said on Letterman that they used CGI to remove her mama-tummy quite a bit.

Age of Ultron pulled in over $200 million in foreign markets this weekend, that's $25 million above projections.

I saw it yesterday. Good movie, everyone gets a turn, much more Hawkeye this time. Don't think I enjoyed it quite as much as the first Avengers movie but it's only by a couple of %.

    Worth a ticket.

Oh and don't wait till the end of the whole credits. The extra little teaser comes at the end of the main character credits. That's all there is.

In fact just gone back to watch the first trailer and it's interesting to see how they used unrelated shots to give an impression of a completely different movie almost.

The interviewer was being a dick here. I would have walked out too. He wasn't there to talk about his political world view or past, he was there to promote a comic book movie.

I hate that "inferior" countries get the film before the US. :D
