When I hear/think of The Cramps' astounding cover of "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" from Smell Of Female, I think of the same.
The Russ Meyer exploitation flick, I mean....

For some reason The Graduate make me think of Mrs. Robinson, but Mrs. Robinson doesn't necessarily make me think of The Graduate. Probably because I've listened to Bookends far more often than I've watched The Graduate (great movie that it is).

A bunch from the sixties popped to mind:

To Sir With Love, movie of the same name
Alfie, movie of the same name
Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Come and Get It, The Magic Christian
Jean, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie

Blow up was a movie that immediately came to mind as being associated with a song - but then I couldn't remember what the song was.

American Girl by Tom Petty -- makes me think of Silence Of The Lambs. It's kind of ruined the song for me... :yikes:

It is hard to hear the song and think of the opening of this movie.

    Great thread!

It's subtle, but I think the use of King Crimson here is masterful!

I think Wes Anderson does a better job than Scorsese of using old tunes in his movies.

Disagree, mainly because Scorsese makes much better movies than Anderson does! :)

For me, Tommy Roe's "Sweet Pea" is indelibly linked to this scene:

Almost every song off of "Europe - The Final Countdown" makes me think of the movie "Hot Rod"

I won't argue that point but his movies aren't great because he crams in 200 classic rock tunes in them!

Pretty much everything from Tarantino has memorable music.

Music themed movies like Almost Famous are also packed with songs that make
me think of those scenes in the movie, like riding in the tour bus, singing "Tiny Dancer".

One personal favorite is the Talking Heads "This must be the place"
Which is in the closing credits of Wallstreet, I think of that when I hear the song.

When I hear Harry Connick Jr, I usually think of "when Harry met Sally"
