    Yeah, kind of meh..
Just an early, very rough outline of the song. Won't get many, if any, replays from me.

I'm not sure what people were expecting. These are outtakes and this sounds like an outtake. I have no problem with it. Would people rather have the doctored tracks like on the Deluxe Exile?

I love the alt. "Knocking" - it might be my favorite vault release yet. Seriously. This is a song that wasn't even (for all intents and purposes) even played live until 2002, and over the years it's mythology has grown. Hearing this incredibly rough and early take is beyond fascinating. I'm am getting seriously fired up for this DE, to put it mildly.

People will want the opposite of what they get. That's a given.

Heavy riff, right up my alley.

That's the first time that I have ever heard it and I think it's great!

I would have preferred Potted Shrimp, Travelin' Man, etc. More songs from the Roundhouse show (or the complete concert) would have been nice as well.

I like it being on there. It's an outtake that has not circulated before. While Travelin' Man and Potted Shrimp would have been great, I do already have them on other bootlegs. If they added the complete Roundhouse show, they would have had to so away with all the studio outtakes. They might end up releasing the complete Roundhouse show later.

I agree, great insight into the development of the track.

Agreed. I wish more of this sort of thing had been released on the Exile set. Love hearing these works-in-progress performances from the vaults. I will enjoy playing this archival gem.

Keith sang like an angel. I loved his backing vocals. Not being sarcastic.

I like it. It's worth having just for Keith's cool solo beginning at -1:40.

The Fingers that are Sticky is my favorite record. Better than Brahms and Beethoven. It's pure genius.

I preordered the super deluxe on itunes a few weeks ago and received the alternate CYHMK in my library this morning.

Just listened to the out-take of "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" (thanks John) and I really like it. I can't quite understand some people's objections to it, but there you are, you can't have everything can you? Seriously though, it's great to hear it in this earlier form and the sound is impressive too. I hope the rest of the out-takes sound this good...and the live tracks...man, I didn't think it was possible to get even more excited about this release, but...

Great and unpolished Stones at the height of their carrer.

Lovin the alt version too as most of you are. I think we should give props to producer Jimmy Miller, who took the Stones and shaped the songs into the versions we know & love.

I hear the lyric "Good Time (s)" used several times throughout the alternate version. Which made me think of "Good Time Woman".

It sounds like (for Once) Jagger didn't touch or overdub vocals on the alternate CYHMK. Great raw stuff, keep it that way :)

AFAIK, he didn't add vocals to any of the unfinished versions of previously released songs on the Exile deluxe either - only the tunes that were "new"
