    Strictly Personal
    Trout Mask Replica
    Lick My Decals Off Baby.

2nd place isn't close, but it'd probably Arthur Brown

It's Gong by a country mile for me.....I can't see Hendrix winning this other than because more people have his albums but to me there's far too much conventional song structure for them to be the 'trippiest'. Gong, on the other hand, starts really far out and then just goes even further out:)

Funkadelic for me. Agree with the previous poster about Hendrix - some far-out playing for sure, but not trippy.

    My 'other' would be:

I would like his EG 3 titles on SACD for Christmas. I put in my list his 2nd lp just for this song:

Great albums! Seems you like early Ozrics, you probably know this already the first six cassette-only albums from 1984-89 are on a great box set " Vitamin Enhanced." Great stuff.

When it comes to psychedelic rock, you gotta go with the classic trio of Hendrix albums. Never bettered.

But much love to Clinton and Co., amazing run of albums there, including "Maggot Brain."

I listed these masterworks earlier, but the album art stands with the trippy greats.

@dachada - so good to debate Hassell releases. EG SACDs may be a pipe dream, but the recent reissue of Possible Musics is a distinct upgrade.

Since Gong is getting some support, I imagine not completely. I would have to have Green in my Trilogy, despite the merits of Fish Rising.

Soft Machine vol I, vol II and Third are pretty trippy as well.

  19. lots of great stuff here!

Mahogany Rush's first three to five

Bevis Frond probably have at least 2 trilogies

  20. White Noise, Funkadelic, and Hendrix are all great, and Hendrix kinda set the template with phasing, use of stereophonics, and harmonic saturation, he's so much more than guitar playing.

I saw them two years ago at a venue within walking distance of where I live. Great show, although with less than 100 people in the audience, I doubt they'll be back soon. Brandi Wynne is an impressive bass player.

Gong wins by virtue of its actually being a trilogy, not just three consecutive albums.

    ANd what of Low/Heroes/Lodger?
