Grant, somebody at Hip-O/Universal must've been listening ...

I haven't seen it in the racks, but supposedly this came out yesterday. How's that for timing?

Anyone familiar with James Ingram's It's real album? I'm not overly familiar with this R&B sub-genre, but this album by a one of the finest voices of soul has some strong NJS influences, if you ask me.

Great compilation of stuff. Shame that it's likely been compressed to death. I'd be interested to see if anyone here takes the plunge.

I just bought these first two volumes. These comps are awesome!! I love this era of R&B. New jack swing is (for me) the ultimate feel-good music.

"don't be cruel" is perfect, but I saw Bobby perform last night, and....well, at times he thought he was James Brown; sort of manic, bounded on stage smoking a cigarette, which portended how his voice would sound; for a guy not yet 40, he has declined quite a bit

I just played Bell Biv DeVoe's Poison album for the first time in a long time and it's just as awesome as it was back in the day.

I love the Don't Be Cruel album by Bobby Brown.

  11. This might seem really odd, but I once discovered an obscure "NJS" track by accident when an old sampler CD in my collection wouldn't run in various players for some reason. Upon further inspection using my computer's drive, it turned out there was a multimedia section - presumably this was authored in such a way that affected the disc's compatibility. Out of curiosity, I opened up the video file located in a folder on its own and was treated to this obscure clip:
