Am I the only one who thought it was funny that Aaron Taylor-Johnson went from playing a married couple in last year's "Godzilla" to being siblings in "Ulton"?

I'll probably go see it mid-week, but I'm getting tired of Marvel movies.

Saw 3/4 of the film tonight with my 9 year old godson.
Suddenly he threw up all over himself and me and we had to leave.
I apologized to a couple of the theater staff members and left because we were such a mess.
I guess I'll see the ending on DVD ...

No - it's been mentioned 2-3 times in this thread I think.

Is he related to the guy who claimed that the first time he heard rap music, he immediately started to vomit? ;) :D

Our theater has reserve seating I sure hope they got that cleaned up good for the next showing because it was A LOT.

  9. Saw it today. Sold out theater. I have no problem with Downey's bit. It was different enough for the film and his work opposite the other actors worked well. I thought it was a better film overall compared to its predecessor with better character development for some key characters that haven't had their background explored.

Still the central reason that drove Ultron didn't hwve much development.

  10. I am so sorry. That happened with the J.J. Abrams reboot of Star Ateel for me. Wasn't sure if it was a critical comment or just upset stomach. I enjoyed the Abrams Star Trek....my son not so much.

Thanos was in The Avengers 3 years ago and on the rollcall of characters from GOTG last year, the infinity gauntlet story line(which is the next Avengers being made) deals with Thanos .Nothing I said had anything to do with Age of Ultron rather all the movies as a whole leading toward what has already been revealed by the title of the next Avenger movie.

187 million opening. 20 million shy of the first Avengers. Still very good but Star Wars will now crush this one in my opinion.

Star Wars was always going to earn more money, far larger audience.

A lot of movie podcasters I watch were split down the middle on which would earn more worldwide for their runs, but to me it was no contest. Be interesting to see what legs this has. Star Wars has no competition till April.

I wonder what all the hype on first-weekend viewership had to do with reducing numbers. I know that in our family we talked about it and decided we didn't want to fight the crowds and would wait until next weekend or after. Kind of the reverse-hype effect. Was it Yogi Bera who said, "Coney Island's so crowded no one goes there any more"?

Yep. It's shocking we live in a world where a movie that makes $187M domestic in 4 days is viewed as a slight disappointment!

I was a little skeptical it would hit $210M. But there's always Star Wars... though that's coming out in a holiday week.

I think the superhero hype, is is beginning to wain ever slightly.
As far as RDJ , he made so great movies , in the 90's and 2000's.
Once , he decided play Iron Man, I think he 's given up.
Now that , his movie the Judge flopped.

But, like you said, all the marketing , on tv they put out, and on the internet.
Let's see if they break even as you would say. I know very little about
movie marketing, but, what I seen .. it's too much.

True, but, Marvel has these board plans , which are panning out.
Who's to say what will happen by 2017?

Oh, yeah, once they hit $1B they're well into profit. Don't forget the merchandise: lunch boxes, toys, video games, posters, T-shirts, the whole deal. No question, it was a very, very expensive movie. Most sources peg the budget at a whopping $280 million, which means it'd have to make at least $660M+ to break even... and they pretty much just did that this weekend after only a week in theaters.
