    Thanks for bumping this thread. However, it appears in the past 7 years since the deal was posted, they sold the copy they had.

    No reason to be disappointed; it's Second Spin.

    Of the 24 CDs, I'd bet:
    12 were missing,
    3 were scratched like cat posts,
    2 were classical CDs
    and the box had a mysterious stain on the front. Right next to the obnoxious sticker they slapped on it.

    I have mixed feelings about this set. Packaging is bad-I put all the cds in cases to avoid using the tight paper sleeves. Book has too little glue and not all the mastering is good. Still, it is an epic collection with so much wonderful music.

    I had read there were some very early stereo recordings, like from the 30's on there. Is that true? Binaural , I believe.

    yeah wish I got this when it came out,was waiting for something with Better Packaging ,now when Sony BMG don't do any Jazz at all, little chance

    Yes, one session which was recorded with two microphones with different balances and when synched together, stereo. It had been out before on a non-official label, this was the first official release of the material.
