No worries - I think Paul's portion of writing "In My Life" goes up a percentage point each year.
I think he's now around 60% so you can count that song as well for your 5th.

I will never get it. I just listened to "Flaming Pie" yesterday and still find "Driving Rain" to be a much stronger album. I can't narrow it down to 5 favourites as I love most of the tracks!

No matter how I slice it, to me Paul's albums that appeal to me the least are:

    McCartney II
    Pipes of Peace
    Broad Street
    Off The Ground
    Driving Rain

These albums may move up or down within my bottom five, but it's hard to me to imagine any of them moving out of my bottom five, IMHO.

    Dr. Pepper What, me worry?

Not even close, IMO. Don't hate it, but it's in my bottom 3 tracks on New.

No doubt, but not as many of the tracks speak to me as in Paul's other albums. I think each one has at least one killer track, but I would be taxed to find five per album that I really loved, and that is not an issue for me on Paul's other albums.

I did struggle with McCartney II (picking only 5) where I couldn't find space for 'Temporary Secretary', which I like a lot.

That's one of my top three on that album along with Comin' Up and the album stand out track One Of These Days, love that song!

Mother, your taste and mine are so similar... If I was going to give a fresh listen to one or two of these albums that I have put in my bottom five, which albums would you suggest?

I'm no Mother :), but I'd suggest giving Driving Rain and McCartney II fresh spins to see if your opinion shifted.

For Driving Rain, I think most people who vehemently dislike the album are split for their reasons for this, with maybe 90% disliking it because of the Heather factor (which is why many people claim to dislike the song "Heather" as well, even though it's one of Macca's strongest instrumentals - okay, pseudo-instrumentals - EVER), and the other 10% not liking it due to the "Nature is calling me" cover (Paul apparently took a selfie of himself taking a leak on the cover). Whatever. If one can sift out the cover and the Heather factor from their listening experience, I think they'll find one of Paul's stronger and more adventurous albums to date.

As for McCartney II, this seems to be the one album in his catalog that has people the most divided as to whether it's really good or really meh. If you like electronic music and Paul's more experimental side, you might be more inclined to like this album. Then again, there are those who are electronic music aficionados, and claim that Paul's attempts are weak and amateurish, so there's that... As for me, this was the first new Paul album I had bought (as an almost 10-year-old in the summer of 1980), and I loved it then and I love it now!

To You needs to be on there. I'd take off Getting Closer. and yes, any record with So Glad To See You Here, Old Siam Sir, and To You should be at #1 or #2 on the list.

I don't want to speak for Ben but my impression of his view - which I share, hence my joining this little conversation - is that he is (and I am) surprised that there's nothing on there you like. Not one single song. From an album by an artist you really like. That's not to say that I think you're exaggerating or lying, just simply that I'm surprised. I share your healthily robust views of McCartney's work in that I don't think all of it is great but even I can't point to a single album of his and honestly say there's nothing on it I like.

As near as I can tell Kisses on the Bottom has been left out.
    Soooo.....

    "My Valentine"
    "Only our Hearts"
    "Always"
    "Bye Bye Blackbird"
    "Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive"

I was really looking forward to Kisses, but ...... eh!
So I haven't listened to it as much as I would have.

Has someone done Electric Arguments yet?

Oh, and Twin Freaks or is that more a compilation?
    I can't decide, but I'd be safe from doofus status if I say;

    "Lalula"
    "Really Love You"
    "Rinse the Raindrops"
    "Oh Woman Oh Why"
and .. geez, mmm boy -- Oh,
    okay "Mumboy"
