Disney did not invent Plagueis. He was mentioned in episode 3 I believe.

And they had a brother named Dennis too, but he liked to surf more than anything...

Some of the spoiler sites I have visited mention Andy Serkis playing a character named Uber. The scuttlebutt is that he is like Darth Plagueis or is him. I'm really taking a lot of the rumor sites with a grain of salt though. Unless I start to see it in multiple places.

We'll probably need a separate thread for the flood of new merchandise that will be unleashed in a few months.

    Need a new fridge?

I swore off San Diego Comic Con after a horrible experience last year where I could not get into any panels and if I wanted to see one panel I had to waste an entire day sitting through panels that did not interest me. It wasn't for the fans anymore in my opinion since it was so overcrowded and lines lines lines lines. I wish that i went this year just for today. Yes I would sit through panels that did not interest me just to see the Star Wars Panel and go see a free star wars symphony concert after wards. I see that Disney's narrative is that this is for the fans and they know that the last films were horrid. They want to let the fans know that the mouse listened to your concerns and complaints and here you go. Can't wait for the new film!

Boy, have I heard so many conflicting opinions about this since it's announcement. I keep hearings things like, "It's gonna be awesome!" and "Wake up, people! It's just another Hollywood cash-grab!". Well, let's hope it's an entertaining cash-grab! Personally, I think it may be good. Great? Most likely not. But good? I can definitely see that. Not only do they have the cast that made the franchise a worldwide phenomenon, they also took the time to make practical effects, an element that's also important to the original trilogy. Yes, there's obviously some CGI in it like the infamous and fanbase-dividing prequel trilogy (a series of films that I don't find completely God-awful like most people do) but it seems to be a more even mix from what I've seen already. I also can't forget about the new cast, which looks promising. Of course, it's yet to be released and people are still making predictions. I happen to be fairly hopeful for this to be good or at least somewhat better than the prequel trilogy. We only have 5 more months left of waiting.

I really dig the fact that there's going to be more actual sets, and people in alien costumes, than there are CGI everything. I used to think that a movie with a lot of CGI in it would be incredible (this was before the prequels); I was wrong!

Gonk droid looks like a major player in this film.

I reckon they are keeping IG-88 under wraps for now.
