    There's something about VPI designs that I just like. I've had a Scout for 6 years and I love it's understated stature and elegant presence. It's a great table. I had my eye on this one for a bit but I don't think I want to part with the Scout and having 2 tables at this stage doesn't make sense for me. Nice table.

    The audio industry knew way before we did just how lazy we ultimately are. "Convenience wins. Convenience wins. All the evidence is in." But, there are those of us who resist until the end, but with 2496, 24192, SACD, DSD, we chose vinyl because we can chose vinyl. Even if all vinyl production ceased, there would still be those like us spinning it as it offers a unique "physical" fascination with often amazing sound and the ability to sound way better that its architecture has any right to. Many don't play an instruments, but we "play" records. No record-changers and stackers need apply. I got this.

    Who of us when vinyl was dying and nearly dead, were we still spinning it daily? Most of us were. It will be until the next new thing hits the streets. What will happen when blue-tooth streaming reaches DSD quality? Ah, don't say never, because you know it will happen. New computers will have streamers installed, standard. Time to start the calender pool. Pick your date now. The speaker wire companies are now very afraid.

    Am I the only one that feels that the higher you get up the price ladder, the uglier turntables get? Even if I had the bread I wouldn't want to spend a 100 grand on something that looks like it's some sort of doomsday device created by the Daleks.

    1974 (or so...), I saved my grass-mowing money to buy this... and, at that time, I thought I was hi-tech!!

    Airforce III is pretty cool as well. The Micro Seiko RX- 1500 homage is complete :edthumbs:

    Yeah, I saw a picture of that one at the What's Best Forum yesterday - I believe it was the same as that, provided by wizard. Looks amazing fully loaded with the 4 tonearms. It will be interesting to see what price point that one fills in the pantheon of Air Force 1 , 2 and 3.

    I have a Rambler DP 500 which is a rebadged Marlux MX 86.

    I think it's a very handsome table;

    Turntables must be the piece of audio hardware that provides the most 'variability' when it comes to industrial design elements. (Speakers probably second.)

    For me, if I were to add a turntable to my system (which I won't, simply because I don't want to start down the road of all that it entails), I'd probably go for the classic look -- an LP12.

    To me, the Linn LP-12 is what a turntable should look like.

    I really like the simpler looking tables like the Linn LP12 or that Clearaudio table posted by Brother Rael. Some of the more high performance turntables look like contraptions I've seen in dentist offices like that Clearaudio Statement.

    Why do I feel like I'm at AAMCO when I look at a lot of these turntables?
