Imagine Iggy singing The Piano Bird. Seriously, I hear what you are saying, but was the Iggy idea actually more than that? It is one thing to make a suggestion, it is another to actually meet, discuss, and inquire about such a collaboration. I never heard that Iggy was actually contacted by The Doors' camp.

Yes his name was bounced around label and management as a serious consideration. Perhaps his known "usage" was a turn off being what the band had just been through. Iggy dyed his hair black in anticipation (or so the history books have written).

  4. Can I send my copies of OV and FC back after 32 years? I only picked them up 3 years ago used but I know where the original owner purchased them from!

It's the only Doors album I've never heard nor owned.

Howard Werth (Audience) never gets mentioned much either, and he apparently came much closer to being the replacement singer.

Perhaps you should give it a test-drive on youtube before investing in the vinyl.

Yeah, if management and the label were intrigued with a proposed Iggy Pop collaboration, it does not seem that it ever got past the drawing board so-to-speak; Werth on the other hand may have actually rehearsed with the band. Apparently Jess Roden did and was penciled in as a new vocalist prior to Ray leaving London and returning to the U.S. to focus on his solo career in '72.

Was it not established earlier in the thread that the two albums plus the bonus track would not fit on one cd?

I think there is some confusion on Amazon, combining info from the imports with the official release just as they combine the reviews from previous import releases with the upcoming official release.

Were any of these songs worked on prior to Jim's passing ? If so did any of it make it to tape ?

As did Michael Stull, reportedly, whom later sang on the second Butts Band album.

Just saw the RS article. 2 CD set and separate LP reissues. Too bad it's delayed. Waited this long, can wait a few more months. :)

Doors site says 1 CD and others also told me 1 CD. At the end of the day it doesn't matter either way. It's coming.
