    Hello

Has anyone tried Clip Fix on Audacity with Blur's Think Tank? Any recommendations for settings?

I was about to ask why but then I opened the first track. What a mess:

First I'd "Amplify" the file by -10dB, run Clip Fix with default settings, then Amplify again to -1dB peak.

You'll have to listen to see if it sounds any better. If you compare it to the original be sure they are level-matched.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm going to experiment with this to see how much it could solve the 'loudness' problem - not just with Think Tank but with a host of other albums I love.

It's pretty much impossible to get back dynamic range once it's been crushed like this (and for all we know what you hear may be what the artist intended.) You are familiar with Audacity so search online for a free "expander" VST plug-in like "Floorfish". Try using it after "Clip Fix" but be conservative with expansion settings or it will just sound crappy. Be sure to keep a copy of your original files.
