    I have found a nice example of a 1941 RCA Victor A-23.
Fully operational....broadcast, plus 3 short wave bands.
Original glass, dial, knobs and case is in real nice nic - no chips, scratches, etc.
Lovely swirl grain! Just got it home....fine cleaning to come.

    Here's a few pics -

Love the old radios. We have an early 40's Philco console and a stunning Zenith tombstone from 1936. Also have a late 60's Danish modern Zenith console stereo. I like to play old time radio shows through the old radios!

Sure, if you can tell me how to pull them off my Flickr account. Every image upload I tried ends up with broken images.

    I don't use Flickr - but I use Photobucket.com.
I transfer by click and drag from my iPhoto to Photobucket and then copy and paste from there.
Works slick. Maybe you can transfer from Flickr in the same way?

I bought that reproduction Grundig made in 1998?, and although it's not as shabby as the Crosley-type machines, it is a far cry from the materials and appearance of those 1940s machines :(

Beautiful radio; even the woodwork is a work of art.

I have a '30s Zenith "cathedral" tabletop. I wish those speakers had memories - what stories they could tell!

It is a beautiful set. I have a US RCA Victor set with a similar cabinet and very similar. Needs an output transformer, a speaker, and some caps.

    cat9,

Two beautiful sets. In addition to my RCA, I have a 1962 Nordmende Turandot C German table set, and also have a 1963 Zenith Trans-Oceanic Royal 3000 portable.

    Thanks.
It's not hard to see why some get a little crazy with these little guys...and some not so little!! :uhhuh:
I know if I had more room in my dedicated space I'd have a few more.

    But thankfully I am limited!!

Those are some great radios that you have in super nice condition! Thanks for posting them! I have a couple more from the '60s that are in good condition but don't have photos of them. Also, I haven't taken the time to figure out what photo sharing site/service to use - or how to use them.
