Has anyone heard if what genre Paul's next album will be? I thought I heard something about another Fireman album perhaps? Also hear rumors of a Kisses on the Bottom style Jazzy Christmas album, peradventure? Thoughts?

Soundtrack to his High In The Clouds animated film.

But I'd love if he snuck in a Fireman album before then.

I haven't heard any rumors what will happen after this soundtrack...
As far as regular pop/rock albums, in ten years we have had three.
So I'm hoping for another one soon.
I can't complain, considering the Stones only released one in this time.

His recording of old standards with Diana Krall was amazingly successful (artistically). I'd like to see him do another, but no Xmas songs, please. Everybody and their dog has recorded a Xmas album.

How about a Chubby Checker - styled twist album? He could call it 'Bejowled Twist'.

    Interesting tidbit from Paul's website:

So, maybe this as Arnie said.

Yes, I've always wished for such a return. The closest he came to that was Back to the Egg.

    Yeah.

I'd especially love an album of songs with just Paul accompanying himself on an acoustic guitar or piano. All self-played and live... but in a studio.

I'd love an album of new songs, and maybe a cover or two, produced and arranged by Van Dyke Parks.

I think Paul and Lindsey Buckingham together might be an interesting project also.

In fact put the three of them together and heavens to Betsy what might happen!

But then ask Van Dyke to fetch Ry Cooder along......... plus Van Dyke is also a good friend of Ringo.........

The last that I heard was back in May, when there were short little articles on the status of the High In The Clouds animation project, such as:

    http://radio.com/2015/05/20/paul-mccartney-lady-gaga-mike-mccready-soundtrack/

Supposedly Paul was recording 7 or 8 new songs, with one featuring Lady Gaga. Not sure if those songs will be Paul, or with other musical guests singing. It is a kids' film, so the soundtrack may have other singers as opposed to just Paul. I have no idea. But it was projected that the film and any soundtrack would come out sometime in 2016.

^^^And the fact that Paul's web site is putting up a photo of Paul from last February, and mentioning High In The Clouds, must mean that the wheels of the promotion of the film are slowly getting started. It still may not come out for many months: maybe summertime --- is that a good time for kids' animation films? Xmas-time is also good, but supposedly the Beatles live documentary comes out then. So maybe they wouldn't want both films out at the same time. Regardless the exact timetable, they need to incrementally get the word out about the film before the inevitable BIG promo push. That is, if it is indeed on schedule for 2016.

I'd like that, in any case hopefully a new album will happen soon.
Then again, McCartney scholars may point out that it was ten years between the first two McCartney solo albums so who knows. :D

Until the deluxe reissue of Back To The Egg gets done, I don't really care what comes next because it's just holding up what I actually want.
