I regard the movies like legends being retold at a later date (as The Road Warrior was explicitly done). The stories get a few of the details wrong, and the timelines often get confused, but the hearts of the stories remain true.

Just saw it; no plot at all. Worst movie I've ever seen.

Just got back from seeing this finally. I need to look at my top 20 of all time list because something just got knocked off. Day one purchase on BD for sure.

  5. Sure it did. It's a very simple plot but it does have one.

The funny thing is that while Mad Max Fury Road has a simple plot I will still take it over a Christopher Nolan film which is 2 hours of contrivances and plot holes and another 45 minutes of exposition while Hans Zimmer makes sounds like he has fallen asleep face first onto his keyboard.

They went. They came back. Made sense to me.

I couldn't figure out why they came and why they went. I feel that was never even talked about. I never saw the original and before anyone says anything about 'That's why you didn't like it. You didn't see the original' I'll say this, the only Harry Potter movie I saw was the second part of the last movie. But I got the story of that movie without seeing part 1 and enjoyed it.

  10. It still had a plot. You claimed it didn't.

Furosa has decided that Joe's enslaving of women forcing them to bare his children and holding the population hostage is wrong. She decides to liberate them and return home taking them with her. Max, captured and used as a blood bag, decides to help them when he senses Furosia's nobility and develops a grudging respect for the women who, like her is seeking redemption for things that she had done in the past in service of the tyrant Joe. [end of spoilers]

Seems like it had a plot to me. Did you see any of the other Mad Max movies? Just curious because they have fairly simple plots as well.

I see. Well there's the problem.

Did everything need to be spelled out? It was an action movie and the plot was never stated because it was pretty obvious.

Well you could watch one of those next time. They have plenty of action as well but the plot usually involves getting two people naked and ****ing.

Saw it again in 3D since my boys wanted to go and it was the only showing available at the time. It was still a fantastic flic, and the 3D wasn't as dark as it often is. I admit it didn't add much except in a couple of spots.

I did finally realize what the guitarist and drummers are. Someone earlier posted that he's the bugler leading the charge, but what I see them as is the dystopian equivalent of a pipe band (pipers and drummers) urging warriors forward.

Oh, and there's plenty of plot for this type of movie, if you pay attention.

I'll admit that the plot was minimal. I also had a problem with the dialogue, so I may have missed some details. The wives were being taken to a sanctuary and the warlord wanted them back. Max and the boy were along for the ride. They went back when Max told them the green area was back at the warlord's base.

I haven't seen the original films for 3o years and remember nothing about them.

  13. You are right. Miller has stated that this is a dystopian western.

    It's got plenty of plot:

    Yoink! Vroom! Screech! Vroom! Huzzah!

Just came back from seeing it.

One of the most stunning films visually I've seen. Just strap in and hold on best you can.

All good things come to those who wait.

As Red Letter Media said in their review, it's like Miller has taken all the current Action Movie directors back to school.

It would have been a great movie if Mad Max himself wasn't in it.

I saw it over the weekend, the visuals and action sequences were pretty spectacular, but ultimately, I thought it was kind of boring without a memorable script and weak acting.

I actually ventured out to the cinema last night for the first time in years to see `Fury Road'.
Besides myself, there were 5 other hardy folks at the 7:05 showing. I....loved it. It was fabulous.
It will never take the place of `Road Warrior' in my heart but I believe that this movie is about
as much fun as you can have at the theater in 2015. Not disappointing at all. Cannot wait for
the Blu-ray. Was that a 1969-70 Plymouth Barracuda in there near the end? How did one of
those end up in Africa? I used to own one! The only thing bad I can say about `Fury Road' is
that when I left the theater, I noticed that Zoe Kravitz was not with me. I watched her recently
in a Canadian indie-film, `The Boy Who Smelled Like Fish' and she is a very fetching young
lady indeed. Obviously she is on to better things and good for her.

I was surprised by how gore-free the movie was. Even the shot at the end where they ripped the bad guys mask off was only a brief glimpse. A lesser film would have dwelled on it.

At the beginning I think it is literally spelled out. When the bad guy goes to look for his wives, after seeing Furiosa take off, and there's writing on the walls and floors about how they're people and not his property and the old woman with the shotgun yells that they're going far away from there.

Once I saw that there were women in the truck I figured out what was really going on, but I'll definitely have to go back and watch it again. I thought it was a pretty simple plot and certainly didn't require a lot of time dwelling on motivations.

Notice the almost complete lack of CGI. For the most parts, the stunts were real.
