A little late to the party, there is already a thread discussing this album!

Anybody who says there's not new bands making great rock and roll is crazy.

Neil should release an archive of his last who knows how many albums, and title it. "Everything Neil Doesn't Like".

I don't love LOTS of things but I'm not gonna try and sell that to you... By the way, Neil isn't going to solve any problems by singing about it. Remember John Lennon.. "I do think all you need is love, but I don't think you can get it by just singing about it".

Lukas Nelson's Promise Of The Real band is a great sort of newer band that hardly anyone knows of! I love all of their albums and they are a great live act to boot!

That's right, plus the sad truth is most people don't care about their fellow humans let alone planet earth!

It is still nice for Neil to sing about our real world problems, instead of writing another "T-Bone" song.

Please... Just because I am not some old guy making $70 albums about things like this, doesn't mean I don't care. You have zero idea what I'm about chief. You go buy your $70 Neil records and believe that makes some difference. Nobody is stopping you.

What an awful song. That said, Neil should do whatever he wants!

The "Mon-san-to" chorus really reminds me of the "dee-vor-cee" chorus in Welfare Mothers.

Fair enough, but lets all hope that Neil never solves all the worlds problems with his ranting albums, or he wont have anything left to write or bitch about. Have a good one!

I've been following Lukas and POTR for nearly 8 years now. They are, without a doubt, one of the greatest rock and roll bands around today. Neil is one of my all time favourite artists. This album should be killer.

By the way... The only thing I have ever gotten from Starbucks was Becks "Morning Phase" Cd as a gift from a friend. Otherwise I could care less about Starcrooks coffee. If people want to buy crap coffee, they will, if they want to eat bad food, they will.

True. Not sure what that has to do with the song in this thread, however.

There seems to be a hint of the Dylan and Tom Petty & the HB's situation going on here. I love Neil normally, but it is beginning to be a bit of a back catalogue thing these days, and I hate how much he asks for new vinyl releases this century.

There are 745,368,90 love songs in rock n roll....if Neil Young wants to release an album of 10-12 songs about political and social problems, and not about boy-meets-girl, I have no problem with that. People like to say "who is a rock star to tell me what to do", but the man is allowed to have his opinions, and address them in song. If you don't want to listen, I'm sure Neil will put out rockabilly/techno/blues albums before too long.

I also would think that anyone that feels that way would just HATE Bob Dylan's first few albums. The guy was always bitchin' about SOMETHING... ;P

What an awful song. I don't care what Neil does - I've long since stopped expecting anything from him, and y'know, good for him. Carry on! But this is just crap.
