Never-before-seen photographs show drug paraphernalia and prescription pill bottles Kurt Cobain left behind in Los Angeles apartment 2 years before his suicide

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...eveal-Kurt-Cobains-Los-Angeles-apartment.html

Well, I bet he didn't get his security deposit back!

And no, I don't think the photos are particularly interesting except for the fact that someone (more than one person?) decided to A). Take the photos B). Save the photos, and C). Release the photos.

I already knew Kurt was a slob and a drug addict who liked to graffiti things and none of the stuff he left behind in that mess is very interesting.

It really wasn't JUST Kurt who was the slob.
Coming from someone in the know.

I'm picturing Kurt unwinding after a long day with an acne facial mask and a towel turban.

Sorry, what the hell does this have with music other than a musician who lived sloppily? Not the first, nor the last

In case you comment, why did I bother to comment? I don't know. Maybe it's the train wreck thing. Wanted to see how sloppily a celebrity lived.

I guess I would hate to see pictures of my apartment in college show up now.

I'm a fan of Nirvana, and recently watched "Montage of Heck" on HBO. After viewing, I felt no sympathy for Kurt. Too much junkie business. A great talent wasted.

This isn't exactly "news". The date on the article is over a year ago.

    He owned a spoon!

I have a couple dozen of them. What would people think if they came to my place?

He left that mess because he was mad that VHS tape was in the PAL format.

That depends.. Are you a known heroin user?

    (That's a rhetorical question). :)

If one person see's those pictures and it makes them question whether their drug taking is really worth it, then it has value, imo.

What does it have to do with music? It humanizes a martyr to the great Rock Gods, and shows the reality. Nothing to do with notes, but a lot to do with music.

I know they both were, yes. :) I shouldn't have implied that it was just him. They both had the same habits.

What's REALLY surprising about the pictures is that there's a Maximumrocknroll in there, but no Flipside!

I just watched this recently and i found it very disturbing. The home videos from his apartment were especially ridiculous. He and Courteney were self absorbed, obnoobnoxious and generally nonsensical if not straight stupid.

Well if you're raised in an atmosphere of neglect, I think being self absorbed is inevitable.

The two certainly can be related, but not necessarily. Sometimes the opposite happens- a person is raised in a neglectful household but they turn out to be very living and caring towards family and/or friends.

Another example of the reasons why it is often better to focus on the art rather than the artist.

Well, there are a lot of interesting and positive things to be learned from studying Kurt's (or any artist's) life.
