Thanks for sharing that, very nice, but IMHO, not on a par with Nic.
Possibly I am more tuned in to an English folk sound.
Still, a lovely song, and it is so good to hear others singing it:righton:

  8. Andy Williams with Simon and Garfunkel on his TV show. Awesome performance that keeps me spellbound every time I listen to it.

Here with an interesting intro from AW himself.

    Best Wishes,
    David

  9. Leonard Cohen - and importantly the Webb Sisters, Hattie and Charlotte - 'If It Be Your Will'

Amongst the most delicate and beautiful vocal performances I have ever heard.

When I had the privilege of seeing LC and band in 2013, it was astonishing to see the other members of the band so completely taken by the Webb Sisters' performance of this and the attention they gave to it. When you have the pick of the world's musicians paying respect to a performance, you know you are witnessing something special.

    Best Wishes,
    David

  10. Nick Drake - Hazey Jane II 3.06

Let's sing a song for Hazey Jane,
She's back again in my mind.
If songs were lines in a conversation,
    the situation would be fine

    Best Wishes,
    David

  11. Carole King - You've Got A Friend - from the album 'In Concert'

Just before the minute mark, you hear the audience responding to Crosby and Nash wlking on stage and then the glorious harmonies hit with :

'You just call out my name ...' Alawys gives me goosebumps.

CK herself is so overwhelmed by the performance, she says 'Oh God' on about 2' 53"

    Best Wishes,
    David

And this. In fact two lots. Liz Frazer's high singing on the main section always snags me and then she totally drops the bomb after the heavy drums come in on the second half. Not so much goosebumps as a shockwave.

  19. Wow, I hadn't seen that before, what a performance!

As another poster alluded to, it's great to see Page, Plant and Jones' reaction. Jason Bonham on drums, I presume?

There's a reason this song got played to death on classic rock radio for years and years. It's a great f'n song!
