What are your favourite foreign language cover versions of Dylan songs?

I just posted another not so great one in that other thread about bad a Dylan covers, and that reminded me of a good but quite obscure one from my home country, Austria, that I wanted to share with you.

This guy is a singer/songwriter from Vienna who besides writing his own songs also does great cover versions of songs by Dylan, Nick Cave or Tom Waits among others, which he does not just translate but retell with local flavour, changing names people and places and transplanting the whole story to Vienna. If you don't understand german you just have to trust me!

    (Songs starts at 1:46)

Not exactly a cover, but a Bob-approved Italian hip-hop mashup from Masked & Anonymous. I absolutely adore this.

They're an English band, but Fairport Convention's lone hit 'Si tu dois partir' definitely qualifies.

Yeah, that's the above mentioned song I posted in the thread of worst Dylan covers. ;) There are two other wellknown Austrian
Dylan covers I had in mind. The one by Falco is actually not so bad, his vocal mannerisms are annoying as always, but it's a nice
jazzy version of Them's cover of It's All Over Now Baby Blue.

The other one is also not so bad, a minor Austro-Pop classic in fact:

There once was a Dylan cover album in Kölsch (dialect of Cologne, not the beer) by Wolfgang Niedecken, called "Leopardefell". Niedecken is quite famous in Germany as the leader of the Cologne-based band BAP.

To my knowledge, there are surprisingly few Dylan covers sung in my own language. The only example I can think of right now is Dutch singer Ernst Jansz who recorded an album of Dylan covers a few years ago. Done rather well, although musically he stays faithful to the original versions.

There's more examples on YouTube if you're interested. BTW, Ernst Jansz was a key member of Dutch ska band Doe Maar, that was hugely popular back in the 80s. But only in Holland of course....:)

We have to disagree, I like Ambros a lot, including all of his Dylan covers.
