It's cool that they're doing this, but seriously, most times of the year you can close your eyes and throw a rock and hit a theater of public venue that's screening
JAWS. Along with AMERICAN GRAFFITI and BACK TO THE FUTURE, this is one of the most overplayed titles for "Retro Nights" and outdoor film screenings.

Not that it's not a great movie, but it gets a LOT of play.

well that's cool! I saw it when it premiered! "Bruce" was so cool on the big screen...now I'll watch my DVD!

    Haha!

That's hilarious. Ya know, The Deep is really not bad (it boasts Shaw again, plus Eli Wallach and a terrific, very young Nick Nolte), but there's really no question that it is best remembered nowadays for Jackie's pokies.

Be nice to see Jaws in the theater:righton:

I remember my parents telling me about seeing it back in '75 when my mum was pregnant with yers truly...she said that every time the shark ate, she had to eat!

A local theater is showing it and I'm in, but to do it justice they're gonna need a bigger screen.

Classic film. I was only a few months old when it was released. I don't think I would be that interested in seeing it in the cinema though.

Are they replacing Bruce with a more realistic looking CGI shark? ;)

In the new print, the shark shoots first.

I wish they would do this more often instead of just remaking everything that's over 20 years old.

I dunno. I think I'd prefer a new movie to replacing the shark with CGI.

Seeing it with a sizable live audience is a worthwhile pursuit, IMHO, which makes it a function of how many people actually attend this "event". :)

Wouldn't all the shark blood in the water have attracted loads more sharks??
And the two lads paddling away would have been a prime target?

Cast Melissa McCarthy as Quint and you might have a minor hit. Or better yet, Kate Blanchett. It would add a whole new dimension to Quint's obsession to kill the beast.

They're showing Jaws at the Fox Theater in Atlanta as part of the yearly Coca-Cola Film Festival. Actually the majority of this year's offerings are old 70's-80's movies, which is unusual.

If I decide to go see this, it'll be the first time I've seen Jaws on the big screen with my eyes open the whole time.

Absolutely unforgivable blasphemy and yet I'd like to see, at least once, a 100% believable looking Great White on the boat with Quint sliding towards it. That would be terrifying. As it is it isn't terrifying.

Interesting rifle choice, an M1 Garand. The Canadian's contribution to Jaws. :p
