"Pretending To Care" by Todd Rundgren from the Acapella album. SEVERAL moments in this......So much emotion that Todd conveys in that track.
Imagine the most heartfelt performance you've ever seen in a movie and the most gripping novel you've ever read and you'll have Todd's performance on this track.

Another one is Dusty Springfield's "Some of Your Lovin'". The reverbed backing vocals that go "..oooo...oooOOO...OOOOOO" gives me a tingling sensation all over.

I'm with you on that one. When I saw them sing it there wasn't a peep out of the crowd, very special indeed. Along with listening to Sharon Robinson singing Alexandra leaving it was a moment I would love to experience again.

Kate Bush -" Hello Earth " does it for me. Especially on the Audio Fidelity reissue from a couple of years back.

Hadn't seen this thread before. Immediately thought of Karen Carpenter and there she was on the OPs first choice! Nice to see Ronnie James Dio on Stargazer too (hence the avatar) and that was just the first page.

The way you hear Brian Wilson' s soaring voice in between the other Beach Boys in "'Til I Die", and especially when he sings the words "I've lost my way" , this being the last substantial musical offering he did

I've always had a soft spot for Terri Nunn's screaming NO! during the bridge of Berlin's "No More Words".

off the top of my head:

    1) Freddie!

    2) Justin Hayward reaching for the high G on the last chorus of the Actor (best experienced on This Is The Moody Blues comp)

    3) Marketa Irglova performing her multitrack crescendo on the coda of We Are Good

    4) The lengthy coda of The Boxer plus the sole Garfunkel sob in the closing guitar section

    5) The Moody Blues layering the harmonies downwards on the middle eight of One More Time To Live

    6) and in the end the love you take is equal to the love... you make... aaa-aaah

    7) Tim Buckley reaching the heights on I Never Asked to Be Your Mountain

    8) Thom Yorke on the final modulated chorus of Sulk

    9) of course John Lennon on the bridge on A Day in the Life

    10) Allan Clarke and Graham Nash alternating leads on Tomorrow Never Comes

Paul going for the note at the crescendo of "Back Seat of My Car." You know the moment I'm talking about. Majestic.

the final layered harmony note in "It Could Be We're in Love" by the Cryan' Shames was the first thing I thought of.
