Savoy Truffle: weak song made weaker by horn section
Glass Onion: Lennon's only weak compostion on the lp
Don't Pass Me By: weak country cornball, should have been saved for his Sentimental Journey lp
Ob-La-Di,Ob-La-Da: this version is forgettable, the unreleased 'Ska' styled version is far superior(7)
Honey Pie: one of the 5 worst Beatle songs of all time. A painful sign of the new phase Beatles as solo artists vs working together
Revolution1/Revolution9: both of these tracks are very good but totally inferior to the full length version of Revolution1 which I rate as a 10 and should have been included instead of these two tracks

I'd give up "Don't Pass Me By" for another four minutes of "Revolution 9" in a heartbeat. I love "Revolution 9", I think it's one of the best, most important and most influential things The Beatles ever did. It could fill a side of the white album as far as I'm concerned.

I would be willing to bet there will be more variety of scores for this album than any other Beatles album.
THE WHITE ALBUM has more songs I don't like that much than any other Beatles album. Even considering that there are 30 songs, the fact that I have 11 songs rated 6 or below means I consider over 1/3 of the album fairly average (or below). One reason is I'm not a huge fan of a lot of John's work on this album. "Dear Prudence is great, but much of the rest is not up to his usual standards.

I don't understand some of you folks' ratings. You minimize some of the tracks that make the White Album the White Album. Rev 9 and especially the two Honey Pies are fantastic in all their weirdness. Over all this album is increasingly my favorite Beatles album and the one that sounds the most current. It's so gloriously diverse. Perfect 10 for me -- although that won't stop me from participating in this pointless rating system.
