I think "I heard the news today, oh boy" qualifies as much as some of the others here.

And then there was Sonny Bono (correctly) quoting the news line only a few months after Pepper came out (first time at 3:39):

There's Paul's "Whatever happened to.." in "Free As A Bird", lifting a bit from The Shangri-La's "Remember Walking In The Sand".....

Here's a "dangerous slippery slope" tangent of this. Beatles lyrics that originated in nursery rhymes.

Does the phrase "see how they run" intentionally come from Three Blind Mice? (Modern English would probably be something like "look at them run(ning)".

"O-U-T spells out" is obviously from the UK children's "choosing chant".

The slippery slope is that most common phrases in English originated from somewhere, so pretty much any lyrics could ultimately be an unintentional quote of something.

BTW, I consider any lyrics written by JPGorR to be "Beatles lyrics". They just never got around to recording some of their songs together at Abbey Road with George Martin producing.

Joe Walsh had a song with the line "they blew his mind out in a car" in a reference to the JFK assassination. Can't remember the title at the moment.

No, it comes from 'I Am The Walrus' - "See how they run like pigs from a gun..." ;)

There's a really weird bit in Ian McDonald's Revolution In The Head, where he claims that the line 'see how they run' In Lady Madonna is an intentional reference to 'I Am The Walrus'. I thought it was obvious that they were both (whether consciously or not) quoting 'Three Blind Mice', and it seems weird to me that a great writer like McDonald wouldn't have realised this.

Speaking of "Three Blind Mice", wasn't John accused (during his solo years) of overusing the 3-note melody behind the words "three blind mice"? (Oh Yoko comes immediately to mind.) And after he became aware of this, that he had either a doorbell or phone answering message begin with the 3 notes?

Yes's "Your Move" quotes "Give Peace a Chance" (not technically a "Beatles" song, but at the time at least it was a Lennon/McCartney original, written and recorded while the Beatles were still active.)

    No, actually.
John had the choruses written and little else. Paul contributed the majority of lyrics from there.

Actually, Bowie even quoted the melody from "A Day in the Life" in this bit.
