    Walrus to go.

My final would be Strawberry and Penny with Strawberry for the win.

Voted off I Am The Walrus. Strawberry Fields Forever is far and away their best song.

Hate voting against I Am the Walrus, but SFF was too much of a game-changer (and was destined to be the obvious winner since round 1).

And these two songs would be my final pairing.

Voted off SFF, just because I love Walrus. Final pairing would have been Walrus and MMT.

Joey, any chance of slipping Boston's debut into your queue? With so many well known songs, that one might be a bit of a toss-up.

  7. "Strawberry Fields Forever".

    I Am The Walrus.

For me: Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane for the final. Penny Lane wins.

  9. "Strawberry Fields Forever" for the win, so I"m voting off "I Am The Walrus"
DQ: My final pair would have been "Strawberry Fields Forever" & "All You Need Is Love", with honorable mentions to- "I Am The Walrus", "Baby You're A Rich Man", "Penny Lane", "The Fool On The Hill" & "Magical Mystery Tour"...

Been done twice: 2005 and 2011. I have an unofficial rule, guideline, proviso, whatever, that I let at least three years pass between times running an album a second time, but I don't think I've ever done one thrice. I'll think about it.

Walrus is the last one standing for me, but only because it's the one I'd like to listen to at this very moment if I could. Two of my favorite Lennon vocals. Great songs. Great album.

No problem. I did a search and it didn't pop up. I'll just look a little better to see the results.

Thanks for doing these polls. they're a lot of fun.

Wow wow wow. This my favorite set of songs from the album. (Actually the top 4 were my top 4, too!) And both songs are among my top 5 Beatles songs of all-time.

I'll go with I Am The Walrus as my favorite (so voting off Strawberry FF). Very close to a toss-up though!

While Strawberry Fields Forever is a beautiful song, I Am The Walrus is much more dynamic and intricate and lends itself better to repeated playings.

"Yellow matter custard dripping from a dead dog's eye." I love that!

This would have been my final pairing.

And I'm voting off "I Am The Walrus" to leave a victorious "Strawberry Fields Forever".

The omission of the piccolo trumpet flourish at the end sealed its fate to being the # 3 song on the album.

And Hello Goodbye is the perfect way to start side two! Right to the point, "You say yes....."!

although it hurts my soul to do so, "I Am the Walrus" has to get the boot between these two

DQ: This is the final pairing I'd have come up with, too (that's probably about the 100th time I've said that in an edition of TWL). How we got here, however, would have been wildly different.

I know, I know it's considered an "album."

But "Strawberry Fields Forever" is a single tacked on.

I'd pick "I Am The Walrus" for the win over "Magical Mystery Tour" as I'm a purist. ;)

IATW is my all time favorite Beatles song, so I reluctantly had to vote off SFF (which is also a fantastic song).
