If this is the case, my estimation of Mr Parsons has just gone up by a couple notches.

Yes, no doubt the Newport Folk Festival has only booked folk acts in recent years...just as the New Orleans Jazz Festival only books jazz acts.

Lots of tracks from More would work well acoustic. Also Julia Dream, Grandchester Meadows, If, Wish You Were Here, Mother, Goodbye Blue Sky, Pigs On A Wing, Brain Damage

You can see his anger seething beyond comprehension, especially when he:

    - had Nick play "Set the Controls" with him in 2002

    - reunited with David, Nick and Rick in 2005 (ending in a group hug)

    - recruited a band made up of severely-wounded US veterans and had them perform "Comfortably Numb".

Can anyone stop this angry guy, please?!?!

Hard to discuss people's vitriol for Waters without discussing politics, so I suggest we not try.

  8. Maybe they confused him with Muddy Waters.

or you can just listen to his lyrics. It isn't rainbows, butterflies, love, hope or optimism. David, Nick and Rick might also have some additional experiences that conflict with the those magical times of 2002 and 2005.

Based on his lyrics, you deduce he's an angry guy. I have no issue with that. But why post in a thread regarding an artist you obviously don't care for? (You won't find me in a Steely Dan thread calling their music cold and unmoving. :))
Thankfully, it's not our place as fans to take the burden of their past on. That's for the [now] three of them to work through. And really, haven't they already?

Nick seems to have no ill will, since he joined Roger on multiple dates of the 2006 Dark Side Of The Moon Tour.

Hey, I never said I didn't like the guy. I love his music. I'm pretty angry myself, I can relate. He sings the way I feel on the inside.

Roger Waters is folk? Is he gonna play the wall on a banjo?

That was never the case though, and Newport did used to book only folk acts.
