Really, no luck on that search? I'm surprised.

I agree with ParanoidAndroid, also many seem to like 20 Golden Greats.

It's not exactly a 'hits' compilation, but The Warmth Of The Sun (2007) has a stellar selection of songs and nice sound (mastered by Mark Linett). It's certainly a very nice CD to have to complement a hits compilation.

I actually really liked the "The Warmth Of The Sun" compilation, not only for the overall sound
quality, but for the first time stereo on six or seven tracks ("I Get Around" etc). Even though I had
all of the tracks prior (I have a complete BB collection) I played this quite a bit for several years.

The Beach Boys Greatest Hits (2 Cds) on the Razor & tie label is the best I've heard but it is expensive (>$100 on Amazon). I believe it is also mastered by SH. I have not heard Endless Summer mastered by SH.

I usually do site searches with Google. I find things easier this way than trying to use the forum's own search tool.

The Good Vibrations box set has great sound, and can be found used for reasonable prices.

I rolled my own using other sources (Pastmasters, Steve's and MFSL). Is it real bad on the original 20 Golden Greats CD?

There's a thread on it, but I haven't heard it.

Possibly the most fitting collection they ever put together. A damn fine set. Trouble is, No Noise made a lot of it stuffy sounding. Always wanted to make the same collection together for my own with better sources.

Right you are...I meant "All Summer Long". For some reason I had "I Get Around" in my head
    without checking the track listing.

I know this is going to come off as crazy, but my favorite sounding collection is a UK release of Endless Summer that scrunches all twenty tracks onto one vinyl album. It came out on the MFP (Music for Pleasure) label in 1981 and I bought it in high school. Still have it.

A few of the tracks are in fake stereo, and are not so hot. But when it's good, it's really good. There is a richness to the sound I don't get elsewhere, especially when you zero in on those backing vocals on "Don't Worry, Baby."

I just recently got the Spirit of America and Endless Summer Lp sets at Goodwill. The sound blew my hair back, esp. the SOA set.

For a 1 cd collection, Made in the USA or Good Vibration Greatest Hits Vol.1. For a more comprehensive collection Good Vibrations box set has the best sound along with some rarities including Smile material not available elsewhere. Very little noise reduction used on that set - Mark Linett has said none was used but some of the song intros to Pet Sounds songs do appear to have some NR. I am not a fan of the Warmth of the Sun collection - too loud and harsh for my ears.
