Pardon me if I waste anybody's time here, but I have to throw this out there.
    At least in THIS forum.

About once every few years (for reasons I still cannot explain), I like to pull out my vinyl copy of Lou Reed's godawful Metal Machine Music, which was given to me as a "gag" gift.

I say "gag" gift, because every time I listen to it, it literally makes me throw up.

    SO... my TWO questionS:

    1. Is there ANYBODY on this forum that can say ANYTHING POSITIVE about it whatsoever?
I have not met one person in my 38 years that likes it, and who hasn't referred to it as anything other the total piece of excrement that it is.

    2. And can you think of another album that is this UNLISTENABLE in a WELL-KNOWN and REPUTABLE ARTIST'S CATALOG????

Most albums made to con your way out of a record contract ARE NOT THIS BAD.

Are all your thread titles in all caps? I suggest you read the forum rules.

I also suggest you search the other MMM threads to see me and many others give the album kudos.

When I'm in the mood for it .... I like it.
I like to view it as some kind of transmission from some "other-world" when I listen to it.
I focus on different parts, little message-like sounds emerge here and there.
With the layers of distortion and feedback intertwining ...... neat.

Metal Machine Music is much better than whatever your own favorite album is, I can assure you.

It literally makes you throw up? You actually vomit every time you listen to it? I think I'd stop listening to it if I were you, that might help stop the vomiting.

And yes, I know loads of people who like it.

Back when I was I high school, there was this guy that would show up and want to drink what little booze we had scored. We didn't want to be rude, but we really didn't like the guy too much. Plus he never brought any booze to share.
We tried several things to get rid of him but nothing really worked.
One day, we seen him coming and we quickly took whatever music we were listening to off the turntable and put on Metal Machine. We cranked it up and acted like we loved it.
He sat there for a while and didn't say anything for awhile. He finally got up and said " I think I'm getting a headache" and left.
We started putting it on every time he came by.
    It worked every time.....

I have a suggestion for you:
Perhaps learn to spell the phrase "ambient worship" correctly.
I dont take suggestions from people who cant spell.
If you don't have anything to contribute to the question I asked, keep your suggestions to yourself.

Is that the only time you listen to it? When you're bored?
I ask seriously. Can you handle it in other moods, and when you are bored, does it engage you? Does it peak enough of your interest to where you are no longer bored?

The fact that you keep pulling it out every few years means there is some redeeming value in it. Lou is calling to you from the great beyond. You cannot resist. It is just like the housewife scene in "Euphoria", where she has no willpower. Face it bro, you love this album.
