I wonder if something like Pretty Little Head could have a sudden change in popularity like Temporary Secretary? To me it is just as catchy, but also compelling and confusing and sometimes frustrating! Guess I am listening to it to much (like right now).

    Real News:

In the Macca Esquire interview thread, etcetera mentions that the print edition of the magazine has ".... a small article about the archive reissues: they said that pipes of peace and tug of war will be released in the autumn 2015".

    We're getting closer...

Don't worry. As soon as Tug of War and Pipes of Peace finally get released, there will be a new "Coming Soon" card, so you'll be able to start another thread of nonsense... ;)

I find Press to Play much more interesting than those two albums.
I hope it's the next archive.

And just to refresh. Here is the previous Archive release schedule:

Band On The Run: Nov 2010
    McCartney I & II: June 2011
    Ram: May 2012
    Wings Over America: May 2013
Venus & Mars/At The Speed Of Sound: Nov 2014 (but delayed by production problems from Sept 2014)

So I'd say November 2015 is a good bet for Tug of War and Pipes of Peace. But I'll be hoping for September.

It's very irritating that there is finally going to be a couple of new reissues in this series and it's two of his weaker albums (IMO of course) that I don't give a toss about. :disgust:

Wild Life and Red Rose Speedway.

I keep hoping Elvis Costello will make good on his promise a few months back to release an album of McCartney-McManus demos from their work together. But he hasn't talked about it since.

Fair enough! That'd be the second pair on my list.

I'd most like "London Town"/"Back to the Egg" and then "WL"/"RRS". I guess "TOW"/"POP" is 3rd place.

Not sure what other pairs make sense. "Broad Street"/"Press" doesn't really fit, IMO.

"Flowers"/"OTG" would be logical enough, I suppose, but I don't really care about them - I already have all the B-sides from the era anyway, so there's not much in terms of "new" content I'd get from them...

I personally think that it was a mistake not to release the Martin trilogy together, because Broadstreet only naturally fits alongside POP and Tug Of War, and it certainly doesn't go well with PTP.

I have been thinking the exact same thing. In my opinion, the single edit is amazing, and it was arguably the most experimental single that he released in his solo career.

I love the Peter Gabriel-esque 'World Music' feel to the song, and I also find it very catchy.

I don't understand why it bombed, especially seeing as it had a fairly interesting video, and I really wish that he had promoted it more at the time. As others have pointed out, it should have been the first single from the album and he should have played it on the TV shows he did instead of or as well as Only Love Remains.

The great thing about re-releasing Pipes of Peace is that it gives us hope (for the future) that the whole catalog will get the deluxe treatment. I disagree with you about Tug of War though - lots of worthwhile stuff on that one.

Someone on Paul's team should steal every recording, film, and image from the Broad Street era and bury it all about 50 feet underground.

    Somewhere in North Dakota.

The "Rock Radio Remix" with McCartney's vocals more prominent is a great track. I like the one that appears on the album, but enjoy the remix much more.

I was also going to ask for a link. I would love to see the demos released officially.

Am I wrong in thinking that Costello recently mentioned writing with Paul again, or working on/re-recording their 80's collaborative songs?
