We share three choices, but where you had "Crazy Little Thing Called Love", I had "Killer Queen". But I could have gone either way, as CLTCL is also a classic song. Spoilt for choice, we are.

Killer Queen, Liar, Keep Yourself Alive (theme of my high school 'radio show'), and Fat Bottom Girls (just cause it's so openly lascivious)

I second many of the members' choices for "Killer Queen" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," but also added "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "You're My Best Friend."

Andy Smith .....Like a good pinch of snuff......

'Keep Yourself Alive', 'Liar' and 'Seven Seas Of Rhye' were clicked immediately. No hesitation. Hovered a bit on my 4th pick. Eventually went with 'Now I'm Here' as I love the nod to MTH, acknowledging their journey thus far. Good idea for a poll though. Ever been a better debut single than 'Keep Yourself...'? I don't think so!

It's a favorite, yes, but has that fatal flaw which they recognized and fixed for the next one: Put everything, including the kitchen sink, UP FRONT. Took way too long for this catchy chorus to hit... they learned that - no other reason that debut single should have fizzled. Great SONG, but needed a "single remix" for radio.

"Seven Seas of Rhye" from Queen II was designed to come at you hard and fast with everything! Both great songs...

Though I do love '80s, 'early 90s Queen, too... have a LOT of favorite singles from that era...

Bohemian Rhapsody - alas, now overplayed, but still amazing for it's time...even now.

    No Synthesizers!
    Great Instrumental Production!
    Ripping Guitar From Mssr May!
Harmonies Galore that Soar and Crescendo !

The poll makes no real sense, cause "Flick of the Wrist", "We will Rock you" and "Fat bottomed Girls" were B-sides and no singles. And "Good old fashioned Lover Boy" was an EP.
So best "single" could only be a song in connection with an attractive b-side.

I think most Queen fans would acknowledge that "Bohemian Rhapsody" is Queen's greatest achievement, but like many super popular FM rock staples played to death, most fans are sick of it. "We Are the Champions" falls into this category, too.

Both the Killer Queen/Flick Of The Wrist and Bicycle Race/Fat Bottomed Girls singles were marketed as double A-side releases.

Not in Germany, both songs are labelled as B-sides and the sleeve for "Killer Queen" doesn't even mention "Flick of the Wrist".

And even if it's marketed as a double A-Side - it remains one single, you couldn't buy them seperately.

I was hoping I could pick 10+. But then, I'd choose nearly all of these if I could. :)

Bohemian Rhapsody (Draws me in every time... )
We Will Rock You (Pretty much the ultimate anthem.)
Bicycle Race (Weird, wacky and wonderful.)
Somebody To Love (Another epic and THE operatic Queen tune.)

I like a lot, but chose just one. I mean Queen were a singles band, I'm not sure they made any truly bad ones.

But special mention - and my vote - goes to the track that first drew me into their world, Seven Seas of Rhye. Damn I loved that single. I loved it so much I went down to the store the following week to buy the album. Bought the album, took it home to play it, and............ well, Queen fans will know the rest. It's like a Python joke in their discography. :D

Well, I personally think that's a bit of a misconception - in fact, as great as those early songs like "Liar" or "Seven Seas of Rhye", "Now I'm Here", they don't sound quite right plucked off their concept albums to me!

A song not on the list: Under Pressure. While a collaboration with David Bowie, it's very much a Queen track, IMO.

My other choice: Crazy Little Thing Called Love.

But all the songs on the list are stellar...
