I'm not a Phish fan and was disappointed when I first heard that Trey got the gig, but he's done a fantastic job and now I realize that he was the only real choice. These shows are huge events and playing the Jerry role at the final celebration of the Grateful Dead is an impossible job. Trey has over-delivered and deserves a ton of admiration and respect.

I'm glad that the boys are finally doing well on the big stage after a history of flubbing the big ones. There's no Grateful Dead without Jerry but the other ones are pretty damn great themselves.

That one repeat of "Cumberland Blues" is odd. There's like a dozen three-minute songs they could have chosen instead.

I am buzzing from no more than water and hops and I have read that thrown together prose three times now but I cannot for the life of me figure out where I went wrong! I will send my un-preferred remaster of Ghost In The Machine to the first person who tells me where I went off the rails other than considering even posting that.
    Well said I second that.

By the way something, it seems somebody associated with the band is clued into this forum and spreading our word around their camp because GD-it whatever gets asked for here seems to get delivered the next night.

Tonight was another pretty great night in my book, recognizing the great High Fidelity quote applies for the whole weekend:

"The making of a great compilation tape, like breaking up, is hard to do and takes ages longer than it might seem. You gotta kick off with a killer, to grab attention. Then you got to take it up a notch, but you don't wanna blow your wad, so then you got to cool it off a notch. There are a lot of rules."

Great Bird Song. Surprisingly interesting to hear Lost Sailor with Trey too.

I thought tonight would have Branford if the rumors of him being in town were true; Birdsong seemed the #1 candidate. If there are no guests by now I am expecting zero tomorrow.

I'll add that Weir sang with a gravitas I didn't know he could manage on the Garcia songs.
