most 'best of" and greatest hits albums are devoid of filler, except the older ones that did not have enough "hits" to fill them up.,/

I think Village Green by the Kinks is one of the most consistent albums there is.

I could probably name over 100 albums (or even more) that are perfect from beginning to end, but here are a few off the top of my head.

John Coltrane - A Love Supreme
    Wayne Shorter - Native Dancer
    Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
The Mothers of Invention - We're Only in It For the Money
    Can - Ege Bamyasi
Roxy Music - For Your Pleasure
Caravan - In the Land of Grey and Pink
Charles Mingus - Mingus Ah Um
    Dr. John - Gris-Gris
    Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak
    Kraftwerk - Die Mensch-Maschine
Leon Thomas - Blues and the Soulful Truth
    Otis Redding - Otis Blue
Miles Davis - In a Silent Way
Peter Gabriel - Peter Gabriel III
    Santana - Caravanserai
Sly & The Family Stone - Stand!
    Parliament - Mothership Connection
    Sun Ra - Atlantis
Talking Heads - Remain in Light
    T.Rex - Electric Warrior
    Ten Years After - Ssssh
Willie Colón & Rubén Blades - Siembra
    Wishbone Ash - Argus
Brian Eno - Another Green World

No joke. I did leave some Beatles LPs out of the equation... but I think The Beatles are unique in that on just about every album, each song is --- if not a classic -- at least still good enough.

I'll bite (after dismissing the whole concept) :tsk:

Nina Simone - Sings The Blues
    Lou Reed - Berlin
    Lou Reed - Transformer
    Lou Reed - New York
Otis Redding - The Soul Album or any Otis album, really
    Dr John - Gris Gris
    John Cale - Fear
    Johnny Thunders - So Alone
    Heartbreakers - LAMF
    Stephen Stills
Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced?
    David Bowie - Scary Monsters
Neil Young/Crazy Horse - Rust Never Sleeps
    Neil Young - Freedom
Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks
    The Stooges - Fun House
Iggy & The Stooges - Raw Power
Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde On Blonde
David Crosby - If I Could Only Remember My Name
Simple Minds - New Gold Dream
Lucinda Williams - Car Wheels and Essence
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever To Tell
    Nirvana - Nevermind
    Soundgarden - Superunknown
    Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers

Not entering any jazz, as "filler" is not really applicable to jazz albums.

Grace Jones = her 3 albums with Sly & Robbie
Abyssinians = all their albums in the 70's, Satta Dub (full disclosure = I released that one)
Mighty Diamonds = all their albums in the 70's (skip the one they did in New Orleans with Allen Toussaint though), Changes
Ijahman = his two Island albums and Tell It To The Children,

Maxi Priest = Intentions, Maxi Priest
    Rico = Man From Wareika
Scientists = all his albums on Greensleeves
King Tubby = everything that is authentically his (do some research because his name has been used and abused by unscrupulous labels)
Slim Smith = Memorial or any Trojan compilation

Most, if not all, the albums released by the Blood & Fire label

There is much more but that's pretty cool already!

I thought the standard belief is that all of the Beatles songs that Ringo sang were filler.

    I don't consider songs I don't love "filler."
I feel that's disrespectful to the art form.

I always listen to albums from top to bottom.. And if I don't love something,
I can usually appreciate its existence.
