Would be great if he did some Classic Purple and got some of the lads back for some shows.

Ritchie sure likes to wind us up, doesn't he? I'll believe it when I see/hear it.

He hasn't really said this before. So I think this is true.

He's old and sees the clock ticking away, just like the remaining Dead.

Perhaps Blackmore can persuade Jimmy Page to come out of his cave.

With Ritchie, at 70, I honestly wonder if he can pull off the stuff he used to play effectively at his age? I don't know. I'd think arthritis and age would have diminished his skill at this point. Who knows? He might still be incredible, but I know most musicians of his age have lost quite a bit off their fastball (to use a sports metaphor).

Ritchie is one guy who's aged well.

I'm sure he can crank up his amps and fluff up his wig...but honestly, who is he gonna play with?

Some sort of horrible permutation of ex-Rainbow members I'd imagine. Joe Lynn Turner, Doogie White, Chuck Burgi, David Rosenthal, etc. It'd be cool to see him play with Ian Paice or Roger Glover, but I doubt that will happen. Glenn Hughes might be a possibility? Maybe?

This would be very interesting. I'm (selfishly) hoping he does this in America. Regardless, he can clearly still play, it's a matter of just cranking the amps up.

On Ultimate Classic Rock's story, he mentions specifically that he will not be playing with JLT ("I think Joe will not be part of the adventure"). See here: http://ultimateclassicrock.com/ritchie-blackmore-return-to-rock/

Hope not late ex Rainbow. I could see Don Airey on keyboards.

As usual Ritchie gets little respect. Even at 70 I bet he could wipe the floor with most of today's guitarists.

Don't think it will be JLT...and kinda hoping it won't be Glenn Hughes. I'd rather he did an instrumental rock album.

I think it would be hilarious if he ended up with Brad Wilk on drums. ;)

Then why read this thread? I don't read topics that don't interest me.

If *yawn* means....it's simply Blackmore promoting a new product (All Our Yesterdays, due in September). ...then yes, I agree.

I'm 46 and I can't play half the stuff on guitar I could 25 years ago. Age, hard work has stuffed up my hands.
At 70 it must take a super human effort to play those old songs the same.
