This thread needs some prime time UFO and I present from the much maligned Mechanix album this gem...

How does rejection automatically imply misunderstanding? That's like that stupid word "homophobic". People can reject things on grounds that have nothing to do with fear or ignorance.

I wasn't aware it was much maligned, it's a great collection of songs and music (The Writer, etc)...saw them on this tour and got this Lp when it came out so its a sentimental fave...

Sorry OP. There wasn't a mention in the beginning and because I take it as unimportant I forgot that others may not.

    What an unexpected treat!

How about some Tygers Of Pan Tang? I've always much preferred the version of "Don't Touch Me There" that was on their first EP over the version that ended up on Wild Cat.

It's a decent overview of their early stuff...you should get it. To me the essential albums are Spellbound and Crazy Nights

IMO the 80s was the golden era of heavy metal; starting with the 1980 breakthrough of the NWOBHM. Glam dominated the charts, thrash dominated the underground, and the seeds of every major sub-genre were planted.

All smokers of the most righteous proportions but 11/10 for suggesting 'Roller;' it's not just one of my fave Gillan numbers but of the whole, hard hitting gene pool, period.

An absurdly addictive opener from the follow up to the legendary Jailbreak.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that Robbo preferred this record to its predecessor and whilst I wouldn't go that far, this smouldering, rolling pitch fight of a track is peppered by syrupy thick, interlacing guitar runs and 'stun wahs' which combine to compel the unwary to submit (and assume the position.)

...and although it's been done to death, more so in the US than over here, Ozzy's debut was a rocking cataclysm: I'm just playing my copy, now and this really was Oz & co. on top form with that really rather handy, late, great six-smith fuzzing things up in a way that was as joyous as Eddie Van Halen had been two years earlier; incredible material although like others, I can't really be doing with 'Crazy Train' any more.

I've been working on a comp for a pal, which has me looking around the unfamiliar, and was quite surprised by this '77 Nugent toe tapper.
