Gentlemen (and Lady), forgive me for going out of topic for a second only to say that even though I rarely have much of substance to contribute to all these fine Sinatra threads, I simply want to say how much I appreciate the fortune of being in such first class company and to have the opportunity to learn much about the Art Of Frank by simply hanging out here.
It appears that this is misidentified as a Universal Music product by Amazon Germany. The label is "Poll Winners Records" and it's a public domain twofer CD: All Alone + Sinatra & Strings + bonus track. Not from UMe/FSE. Amazon UK link —> amazon.co.uk/dp/B011JKXS5S
August 2015 is near and I'm still waiting for more Capitol/Reprise album remasters from UMe: Downloads etc. ! Quite lame for a "Sinatra" centennial...
What bothers me more is all that we've got thus far left a lot to be desired. I'm really looking forward to the Columbia releases - although I can't understand why they don't use the new Rockport transfers. Possibly waiting to milk the cow again
Three new Reprise vinyl reissues by UMe just listed for release November 6, 2015 (links to Amazon UK): —> A Man and His Music (2-LP) —> September of My Years —> Sinatra '65
Both worth getting. AMAHM is more of an anthology, with spoken introductions by Sinatra which you won't find on any other album. Sinatra '65 is mostly a comp. But both contain a couple of what (at the time) were previously-unreleased tracks.
Not yet listed by Amazon, but another Capitol LP seen due for release November 20, 2015: Swing Easy!. Perhaps this will be a ten-inch companion to the Record Store Day reissue of Songs for Young Lovers?
It's been suggested (thanks, @bferr1) that this may be intended for a Record Store Day Black Friday release. —> Record Store Day Black Friday 2015 Timeline
Without a doubt, it will be an HD download like it's companion (and include an EU MP3 download voucher).
Well, it's just an educated guess, but I'd be very surprised if these upcoming "Signature Sinatra" vinyl releases will be any different than the many other UMe Sinatra issues of the past year. What I can't fathom is why those download vouchers are not included in the LPs distributed in the U.S. !?
Must be something like that. Seems to me those costs must be offset somewhat by the added costs for separate packaging and labeling of what are identical LPs with the same point of manufacture. But I don't know anything about such matters.
Add me to Simon's sentiment. I rarely post on Sinatra threads. I guess I'm intimidated by the knowledge of the folks on these threads. I love the threads and enjoy just reading and learning. I'm relatively new to Sinatra so there's much to learn! And I've noticed that Sinatra threads seem to be a more cordial place to hang out than many other threads on this forum!!
