    Another classic voice song.

I don't have anything by her in my collection, so I would love to add at least a classic album of hers or maybe a compilation album (although I do prefer whole albums) and of course it should sound as good as possible. Any suggestions?

I'd all I know by her is Rose Garden, but I don't care even if this is all she did as it is a solid gold classic.

Of course "Rose Garden" is a great song, but Lynn recorded of series of terrific albums from 1978 to 1988 that showcased her powerful and soulful, especially "Back" (from 1983) and "What She Does Best" (in 1988). There was more than just the one song to Lynn, so check out some of those albums, which I'm pretty sure can be found fairly cheap in second-hand stores. R.I.P. Lynn and thank you for the music.

I can picture that being kind of a nice send-off with everyone in the place singing along. Make it a good one!

It was Ms. Anderson's recording of the Carpenters tune "Top of the World" (originally on their 1972 A Song for You album) that led Richard and Karen to revamp the instrumental backing, vocal take and mix for 45 release, yielding the duo another #1.

Yes she did with the Rose Garden album. Either get the original vinyl or the Collectables twofer of the Rose Garden with the You're My Man album.

And in tribute, I will be spinning Lynn's best 45 singles on Chart and on Columbia. I will be preparing a tribute broadcast.

Thanks for posting that. I haven't heard Rose Garden in years and it really takes me back. It was on the radio everywhere I went as a kid. RIP Lynn Anderson. Too young to go.

"Listen to a Country Song" takes me back to memories of KLAC on Saturdays in the early 70's. She got a lot of mileage out of those Columbia albums.

I was in the Army in1970, at Ft Ord & inhabited a small bar behind a BofA in Seaside. Had a great sounding Seeburg which is where I first heard garden. Bought a bunch of her stuff since, but that tune always brings me back to that place. She was 3 months older than me. Brings it all home. Nutz.

I prefer her original Chart recordings. Lots written by her Mom.
Last photo I saw of her was not very good.

Had heard that she was in hospital at Vanderbilt with pneumonia -- was shocked to hear that she'd passed from a heart-attack. She was well-loved in Nashville and beyond. Rest in peace, Lynn.
