Loved seeing Paul last year at Dodger Stadium. Though, I have to say Arthur Lee & Love at the House Of Blues on Sunset in August of 2003 was the BEST. I had already seen them many, many times previously, but that show...right from the first notes of the opening song (Your Mind...) I knew that it was going to be a show that I'd never forget.
The Mikado Lady Mary High School Cardiff Wales 1969 [ Boys School ] I was down to play Pitti Sing but my voice broke in rehearsals . I was relegated to make up and stage hand , My friend Thomas Hollywood , at the time a celebrated Boy Soprano , played the role of Yum Yum , The production ran over 3 nights and was talked about for years after.
Talking Heads at the Forest Hills tennis stadium in the summer of 1984. My friend and I just decided to go that day. We found a parking space on Queens Boulevard right nearby. Went up to the ticket windows and were very pleased to find that it wasn't sold out. What a night.
Amongst those I remember: The Faces at the Rainbow in Finsbury Park, London in 1971 The Who at Charlton in 1974 Ian Dury and the Blockheads at the Top Rank in Brighton in '77 or '78 Neil Young in Finsbury Park in 1992 The Chemical Brothers and Orbital every time... I saw (but could not hear, because of the screaming) the Beatles at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1964, the Rolling Stones at Wembley Empire Pool in 1973 and Bob Dylan at Earl's Court in 1978....all memorable, but they didn't work for me in the same way as the ones I have listed above
The Pirates of Penzance The Carl Rosa Opera Company 2008 at the South Florida College Avon Park Florida, My Wife was given tickets ......"Do you want to go"........."uuummm I don't know , sounds like it is Linda Ronstadt/Kevin Kline stuff!!! Turns out that our tickets are next to the small orchestra , we could hear them talking as they tuned up . All of a sudden the conductor bounded out , stood in front of the musicians and shouted "Ready" and away they went with the opening overture, the curtain came up and we were away! There were a lot of highlights but for me the rendition of "A police mans lot is not an happy one [ happy one ] stands out but the whole ensemble were magnificent . When it was over we looked at where the company were going next but unfortunately we were not able to see them again
Stevie Ray Vaughan at Manchester Apollo. about 1985. A rare UK visit. The PA packed in. It was also recorded by the BBC. I suspect, being from Texas, he found the Manchester climate somewhat chilly.
Wings - Kingdome 1976 Grateful Dead - Autzen Stadium 1994 Jimi Hendrix - Winterland 1968 Neil Young - Warnor's Theatre 1988 Led Zeppellin - Fillmore West 1969 jerol
Saw this tour in Houston. Went to see Thin Lizzy, had just slight interest in Queen. I came home a Huge Queen fan.
Agree..... that band just rocked so hard, and the stage theatrics were insane. Best show I've ever seen.... a True shame that none of those shows were professionally recorded or filmed. Another really great show was Chick Corea and Return to Forever's Romantic Warrior concert in Berkeley, April 23rd 1976.... amazing show. Serious music going on that night.
Sounds like a cool perspective to have. There were two shows during the US stadium leg: Sept 13 and 14th, 1985 http://brucebase.wikispaces.com/1985-09-13+-+COTTON+BOWL,+DALLAS,+TX http://brucebase.wikispaces.com/1985-09-14+-+COTTON+BOWL,+DALLAS,+TX

Deep Purple, Fleetwood Mac and Rory Gallagher - Fresno, CA (April 1973) Amazing event. Also, YES at the Greek Theater in Berkeley (Sept. 1984) was pretty magical.
Impossible to select one. At this point in my life, it's about making the right choices and maximizing enjoyment of every live music experience.
1985 sounds right as that was my first year in college and that's when I "worked" that show, so you are correct No idea which date it was ....
