I just listened to these for the first time... AND THEY ARE GREAT! Did not expect this after all the complainin'.

I am listening to the Rough Mix of "Dancing Days" and this one definitely sounds more like Led Zep than the weak finished mix (dunno what happened there). The drums are up an front and not tinny sounding and the stereo is much more balanced.

They did a great job with these, I blame all the naysayers on this forum for me not trying them out any sooner. They all get a big thumbs up so far!

By the way, I have a few good needledrops of the Classic reissues and I prefer the remasters (the digital versions, not the LPs) — the Classics are definitely great, but sound too "refined" for this kind of music; the remasters sound more gritty.

I was a naysayer, but yes....they sound great.

The Marino discs sound terrible in comparison.

Well, I finally have them all and the completist in me is very happy, as are my ears! I've been playing these all weekend and they sound really good to me. Some of the stuff sounds even better than my original pressings. So kudos to Jimmy Page for taking such care with these and doing it right. Ignore the naysayers and the whole analogue v digital debate - these are fab and it's great that they are so easily accessible to a new generation (as is only right). I don't have any bootlegs so have really enjoyed the companion discs also, especially CODA and the Bombay sessions tracks in particular.

If you don't mind my asking:

What are those exact sleeves on the CDs? I need some of those.

    Ignore: those are LPs

Although I was visually impaired....has anyone placed the cd versions in protective sleeves? If so, what brand and type?

I bought mine off eBay (30 for $8.99 I believe - I didn't need 100), but they are the same as these and I agree that they're very useful for packaging like these LZ CDs have. BTW, the CDs that come in the Super Deluxe boxes already include these types of sleeves. But the standalone CD releases don't.

I was so impressed with the second side of Coda I spun it twice. The same can be said for the first side of Presence.

Just curious, did you go for the reissue (on vinyl) of the live TSRTS? If not, why not?

Would you be able to recommend a good resealable outer sleeve for the deluxe CDs from CD Japan? I'd like to add it to my order for the inner sleeves. Thanks.

Those I buy from my local, which you can probably find at the link the op posted. Cdjapan ( afaict) only sells mini lp style releasable outer , which are not wide enough for digi paks / deluxe cds.

The cds are a big step up

    The vinyl?

    Why not analog mastering?
They didn't pay attention to the biggest faux pau and triumph?
Beatles Stereo and Mono lp remasters

A good UK first press is a revelation, the Classics great
These remasters are acceptable for someone who wants a pristine copy doesn't want to shell out big bucks

We wont even get into the lame bonus material

I was one of the primary complainers during this campaign, but the bonus stuff on "Coda" totally blew me away. It's funny that the album I pretty much never listened to has now become essential listening.

"Bring It On Home (Rough Mix)" on the third disc of Coda alone is worth what I paid for all 9 deluxe editions.
