What goes on: I LOVE George's guitar in this song.

Help from my friends: I LOVE the harmonies and the back and forth responses in the chorus (and Paul's bassline is amazing)

Yellow Submarine was the Number One song when I was born. I have to go with that. I also voted for Octopus Garden, the sequel song.

'good night' is really beautiful. I love the lush, 40s-50s film score aesthetic it seems they were going for, and it suits Ringo's voice incredibly well.

I like Don't Pass Me By and Octopus's Garden best, although I enjoy all of these songs very much.

It has something to do with the fact that loveable old Ringo was able to write two such catchy tunes. George's guitar work on Octopus and the fiddle part on Don't Pass Me By also help to make the songs what they are.

"With A Little Help From My Friends" -- perfect for Ringo, his signature song.

"I Wanna Be Your Man" -- Ringo's best rocker.

I love Ringo's lyrics in "Octopus's Garden". Lines like "We would be so happy, you and me/No one there to tell us what to do" and "We would sing and dance around/Because we know we can't be found". Guileless charm can be hit or miss. Here, I'm a sucker for it.

I also voted for "Yellow Submarine" because, well, it's true. :)

Octopus's Garden for me - beating slightly With a Little Help From My Friends on the strength of the backing vocals

Something about the omitted words from song titles, missing capitalization, and absent punctuation almost perfectly illustrates how rote these polls have become.

And "Can't Fight Lightning" is his best song with or without the Beatles. "Carry That Weight" was inexplicably left off the Beatles options...

One of them has to be The Beatles' cover of Boys -- Ringo really smashes up the drums on that one.

Very hard to pick a second...I know which ones I probably wouldn't go for -- Don't Pass Me By and probably I Wanna Be Your Man.
But I love the rockabilly covers and takes -- Honey Don't is great, Act Naturally and What Goes On are favourites, too (love those guitars).

So I don't know. Just looked at the list again. I can't choose.

With a Little Help from My Friends is his best delivered vocal performance.
Other than that one, I have a hard time listening to most of the songs Ringo sings on.

    1. With A Little Help From My Friends - I agree with what dewey02 said above
    2. Yellow Submarine - first Beatles song I sang as a kid: "We all live in a green sardine!"

Runners up: "I Wanna Be Your Man" (this smokes!), "Good Night" (unlike anything else in their oeuvre)

With a Little Help From My Friends hands down. His voice is so wonderfully homely. The backing vocals are among my favorite of all beatle songs. And the bass! boom-bom-bom!

"Boys" has his best vocals. He's not even trying to do the "right" thing there, just bursts through it. That's rock'n'roll!
