I don't like it, largely because the Sandler character is such a jerk. It's a remake of "It's A Wonderful Life" if George Bailey was a total a-hole:

I have to give props to Rob Schnieder...his movie BIG STAN was outrageously funny!

  5. Many people have mentioned The Wedding Singer as a decent Sandler picture, but as I've said before 90% of the movie's appeal is due to Steve Buscemi's cameo. Just watch the two minute clip below, and you'll have seen the best the movie has to offer and won't have to bother with the whole thing. :)

he's had a lot of crap, but Happy Gilmore is a favorite of mine. 50 First Dates isn't bad either. And The Longest Yard remake isn't terrible. Then we get into Little Nicky territory.....

I enjoy Adam Sandler flicks when I stumble upon them on tv with my kids or something, but they don't rank as anything special by me.

Among 20-something's though, in case you don't know, many of his movies are considered outright classics.

Although I've seen many of them I can't comment on individual movies as they all run together for me.
Some of them have been undeniably mildly amusing in a juvenile sort of way.
I think most of us on this thread are not the target audience for his films and that's why there's so many negative comments.
I also don't think he cares what anyone thinks as long as that target audience keeps paying to see what he pumps out.
He probably keeps costs down so even a dud pays something back.
His legacy will likely be his bank account not his contribution to the cinematographic arts.

My ten year-old son told me he wanted to go see "Pixels". I told him that we could see it, but that he should understand that it was probably going to be dumb. His response was, "Of course it is. It's Adam Sandler. Duh!"

There's a lot of crap about and his output is both regular and consistently bad.

I've only seen "Funny people" and "Reign over me", in which he plays a depressed guy. I think he does that character well. Can't imagine him actually being funny.

I think Funny People is an underrated film and actually was a very interesting (albeit strange and unpredictable) film. Sandler was a far better dramatic actor than I expected he was.

I like a handful of his movies (mostly the earlier ones- the last one I thought was funny was Waterboy) but for some reason I really like his comedy albums.. and I can't explain why.

I won't pay to watch any Adam Sandler movie but they are good for a few laughs on cable if nothing else is on.
