I was listening to Lennon Legend and at the end of side B, there were faint noises and then phone dialing sounds. What is this and why is it here?

Here's what I'm talking about. I amplified the sound to make it easier to hear. http://vocaroo.com/i/s1skXe0MT1ay

A stab in the dark but is this a commercial pre-recorded cassette tape? Maybe it is some sort of calibration and / or synchronisation sequence for the duplicator. I'm very curious as well.

    Yeah, it's a pre-recorded tape.

Capitol's Quality Control tones. Part of the XDR process.

Yep, that is the XDR "tone" kind of a cool blast from the past thanks!

Arcade Fire added those tones to one of the sides of Reflektor.
