Marvin Gaye 1961-1965 vinyl box set is currently at it's lowest price ever from Amazon.co.uk, £67.51, so for US buyers about £56 plus the postage, not the best albums of Marvin's career, but still worth picking up at that price.

Amazon were unable to answer the question "is this set vinyl?”

When I protested that that was a tad nuts, I received this reply:

    "
From your email, I can understand your concern regarding your pre-order #204-1259109-6322758 Connie Francis: 19 Original Albums & Bonus.

I understand that our Fulfilment centre were not able to comment on this whether it is vinyl release.

To help you best, I've checked and like you said the Connie Francis: 19 Original Albums & Bonus Box set, Importis list as Vinyl.

In this case, since it is mentioned in the website as Vinyl, I'm confident that you''ll receive it in Vinyl format.

However, I'd like to add that if it doesn't come as Vinyl, please let us know and we'll be more than happy to refund you in full. "

I would assume the product artwork stating "CD" is correct, and that Amazon incorrectly states it's vinyl.

PS: I copied the serial number for this set - B00Y1QGFXK - , did a search and every site in the world claims that is IS #Vinyl ! So, it's beginning to look as though it is ten quid for this -on vinyl. Hmm.

If you click on the Todays Deals banner you may get this:

Buy £40 in Amazon.co.uk Gift Cards, Get a £10 promo code to spend at Amazon.co.uk

It says its only available for those who get an email invitation or who see the banner on the website so its possible not everyone can take advantage of this.

Worked for me by clicking on the "qualify" link on their website (I didn't get an email about it).

Just a reminder that all these links are being redirected to the USA site, on my iPad at least. Don't get caught out...

    And I'm in UK! :(

Don't tap the links. Press and hold (or right-click with a mouse), then "Open in New Tab." That will avoid the forum's unwanted redirection.

Thanks. I'm really just reminding people as it's very annoying that this is still happening. Pretty pathetic!

I installed the Ghostery add-in for my browser and killed the viglink.com links.

There is a very easy way to go to the original (al least on Firefox):
Hold Shift key and then click the link.

Well, it *IS* the 51st State, so what do you expect? :)

More seriously, we have had lots of discussion about this, and it seems that members have two options:

    1. install a blocker like Ghostery -- this helps to avoid the re-direction of posted Amazon links
    2. use your own re-direction utility (like tinyurl.com) to post a link that cannot be re-directed -- this ensures all members opening the link go to the right place

or just go directly to the site and search for the item. Who cares about the link?

It matters in cases where the link is to a third party seller, for example. Depending on whether you have Prime, etc., the first page you see when you search for an item on Amazon can change, hence the need for a direct link!

It you look at the listing it always shows the third party sellers as well
