For me it has to be "It's Now Or Never".

I'll go with the live Suspicious Minds from the Vegas 70 DVD. I'll accept overall performance perhaps over vocal performance but he owns the stage, he owns the audience and he owns the song. The moment where he startles the backing singer is just incredible (it may be scripted and he may have done it every time - if he did please don't tell me!!), he inhabits and owns every second.

"An American Trilogy", no questions asked. The last ten words alone are the greatest vocal performance in history. I will not be swayed on this subject.

That easily gets my vote. On some songs, he was a crooner. On others, he had that nitty=gritty quality. This song has the perfect blend of both.

This. And I have been sampling different performances of the piece this week. So far, none of them holds a candle to the Aloha Special version.

    That one kills me.

"Long black limousine" for me. When his voice cracks a bit in the middle, it gives me goosebumbs every time.

I really prefer 70s Elvis. His singing and diversity of styles are truly incredible.

Long Black Limousine; he had a cold at the time, and his voice was extra breathy, extra soulful.
