I forgot that this show had some legitimately funny jokes.

The show was awful but you had to watch it. At least I did.

Is Small Wonder to the Visual Arts forum as The Beatles are to the Music Corner?

This show comes up at least once a month.

I have now seen parts of two episodes of SMALL WONDER on Cozi TV...ohmigod. It was hard to look away it was soooo bad and painful to watch.

It's hard to believe this was an actual TV show, but I guess some other things from around the same period might rival it.

My apologies to anyone who has fond memories of it. :wtf:

Small Wonder is still better than almost everything on TV these days.

Is there some law that all videos like this have to be done by guys who over-emote like maniacs?

I stumbled on a Cozi showing this weekend and couldn't believe what I was seeing. It looked like an amateur production with "actors" who were simply awful.

I remember watching it as a kid. I'm not sure I especially liked it, but there were only so many choices back then, especially for a pre-teen.

Watching it now, it's obvious that it was made for a viewing audience made up of children or ... well, people like my grandmother who thought every show on TV was filthy except for Murder She Wrote.

It's awful, but it seems it accomplished what they were going for. Create a safe, sweet show that offends nobody and tickles the fancy of kids and those who like harmless entertainment.

Small Wonder and Out Of This World (I think that's the name - girl who was the daughter of an unseen alien to whom she spoke through a glowing diamond) were awful and yet somehow mark my life as a young teen in the mid-80s. Even with cable at the time, there just wasn't much on for kids to watch, especially if you were beyond cartoon-age.

Antenna TV airs the show for an hour on Saturdays for those who want a little cheese in their weekend television. :)

I think it survived for 4 seasons before going into syndicated rerun status (where it enjoyed a bit of a renewal in interest) was because it aired on the very young Fox Network and it was a moderate success. I watched it, as a child, when it was first run and I don't think it was aired very late, maybe around 6pm or 7pm. It entered syndication in 1989 and was aired in the afternoon.

I don't believe Small Wonder was ever on Fox as part of their network broadcasting package. It was a syndicated show from Day 1, that was likely picked up by many Fox-affiliated stations in various markets.

Antenna TV airs Small Wonder and ME TV airs Mama's Family. :) I have both on DVD. I'd watch/buy Out Of This World if it was on TV or on DVD (yes, it's another guilty pleasure of mine).

Yup, you're right. A lot of Fox stations aired it because they were desperate for programing to air during the massive blocks when Fox network shows weren't on.
