    Would it be sacrilegious to pick a cover? There's just something about his version of Ian and Sylvia's "Four Strong Winds" that sweeps me up and carries me away every time I hear it. Maybe those gorgeous multi-layered acoustics, those astringent but somehow perfect Nicolette Larson harmonies - just everything about it. I'm sure he's keying off Dylan's Basement Tapes version which is also gorgeous, but Neil here gives it an epic sweep...

    How on earth are you guys choosing only one?

    I'll go with The Loner. Or maybe one of two others from the first album for the same reasons -- killer fuzz guitar mixed with lyrics that resonate with me deeply.

    Right! This and The Kinks "Heart Of Gold" are 2 great songs about adolescence! Also, notice how deep these choices go back into Neil's catalog > mostly '60s and 70s songs.
