Bet if we were doing 2000s rather than 2010s LCD Soundsystem would be making a much stronger showing….

Never heard any of them but have a strong dislike for a few of the artists that I do know of. Listened to WYEP Monday night around 7-8 PM and didn't know or like a single song played during that time. I like that station overall but it was a rough hour trying to find some good in current releases.

Not only have I not heard any of these albums, only 11 of the artists are familiar to me.
Makes me feel out of touch......I need to get out more.

Kanye West, because it is the only name I recognize. :)

You don't like Porcupine Tree? This one is inspired by Ted Bundy.

I'm not really into modern stuff.

Ahhhh...I see. He's only been releasing albums for 26 years...it needs to go back further?

If it didn't come out on a 78, it didn't happen.

I'm in. I took a screenshot and plan to listen to those I haven't heard, meaning all but "Lonerism." I find value in these kinds of polls, including the vote results.

I think this is a pretty solid list. I've heard a good amount of these albums, but I'll hold off voting until I've heard the new Swans stuff.
As for what's missing, I think Channel Orange by Frank Ocean is a big one. Also, Bad as Me by Tom Waits. It might still be a little soon to add Under Color of Official Right by Protomartyr, but I quite like that one too.

No, they arent groundbreaking. But I like to think this is what Lennon might have been doing a bit of. Kind of a John fantasy album for me. I suspect Im not the only one who thinks this.

I was beginning to think Let England Shake was pretty much forgotten. Good to see it up front. I think its a masterpiece.
Id probably go with the PJ Harvey, Swans and then LCD with Lonerism being a guilty pleasure. Like Black Messiah, though the words I really cant relate to.

It's strange to see how many people around here say they never heard any of these albums, and yet there's so much complaining that there's no more good music released these days.

I'll leave my union card at the door - I've only heard two of the listed discs, and neither of them are favorites. :D

If we were doing this in a year or two, Courtney Barnett's Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit would be a given.

I chose Porcupine Tree only because it's the only album I've heard. I don't count Kanye's as I don't really consider him an artist.

I've listened to about half the albums on that list, Tim Hecker being my favorite of those.

I'll vote when I've listened to all of them - maybe by Labor Day.

I've heard a bunch of them, but only have the Swans - To Be Kind album (and love it). I voted for it and as of now I'm its only vote

Seems like 1 or both of the Jack White solo albums would have made the list.
