A lot of the usual suspects (studio only)

    Freak Out
    Blonde on Blonde
    The White Album
All Things Must Pass (I consider this a double)
    Exile on Main Street
    Quadrophenia
    London Calling

After we get to the CD era, I'm not sure I really can identify which are "double albums".

Gotta put in a good word for Uriah Heep Live '73. I still play it today, and it's still an absolute blast to listen to.

    There goes my credibility haha...

The Beatles White Album was the first non-compilation album I bought. It's still my all-time favourite and will remain so for the rest of my life.

There are not many good double LPs are there? People are picking mostly the same ones.

    I'll go for:

Exile On Main Street (of course)
Kids Are Alright by The Who
    Moonflower by Santana

I do think that's true. There are not that many great double albums.
Most of them are falling in the category 'would make a great single album'.

I can't think of any more all time classic double albums at the moment

Until I looked back in the thread and saw

    Electric Ladyland
    London Calling
    Moonflower
    etc

I would like to make a case for George Harrison's All Things Must Pass to be classified as a double album henceforth.

The third disc that came with that "double album" is a bonus jam only and not part of the other studio recordings.

It was clearly not to be taken seriously and is closer to a bonus coaster than a third record in the set.

With that said, I therefore offer up All Things Must Pass by George Harrison as one of my double album sets.
